Visited the restaurant for first time recently. Staff are friendly, enjoyed the food which was fresh, served hot with large portions. The only criticism is that I asked for some extra chili (fresh, oil or similar) as I did not find the food hot enough for my taste. Husband prefers it on the mild side so as a compromise I add chlli to my dishes. The waitress kept telling me that there was chili powder with the Pad Thai and just was not interested in providing extra chili. This was very disappointing. On the plus side there is free parking, however I will try other Thai restaurants and may return in the future.

Award winning authentic Thai restaurant & Bar. Lovely beer garden by the river. Spending sunny afternoons with a cold beer and some delicious Thai food.
First ever visit and enjoyed it very much. Not too busy for a wednesday evening just enough hubbub to make it feel welcoming but not obtrusive, so we could chat and hear each other. No obtrusive background music which I dislike immensely.Service was quiet and efficient with plenty of smiles and just the right amount attention.Only problem was ordering Chinese tea got a blank response from young server but boss lady offered jasmine tea which was great. All food was piping hot and very fresh, you could taste the quality of the ingredients and the fried sea bass was fantastic according to my friend. The sharing platter for appetisers was very nice but nothing special I doubt they were made in-house. Not a complaint and I would simply choose something else from the many options available next time I visit.I had a king prawn and pineapple curry which was very good, prawns were cooked just right. The curry sauce was rich and just a nice after taste of heat from the spices which is just how a seafood curry should be.My other friend had the lamb massaman curry which he said was excellent. We all had fried banana's for dessert, I person went without the coconut topping and I must say that would be my choice too next time. Depends how much you like coconut to be honest.Definitely will be going back but it is unlikely to be a weekly venue (which is a shame) as our bill was £120 for 3 people and that was with only a couple of beers. So in summary, nice place, nice food, good service I just need to earn more money to go more often.DearSaucydiner, Thank you for dining with us and for taking the time to leave a lovely review. We are delighted to learn you enjoyed the king prawns, fried banana, lamb massaman curry and pineapple curry and had a lovely time. We look forward to your next visit. Kind Regards, Bangkok Lounge

Booked before an event so qualified for the early evening discounted menu. The restaurant gets busy very quickly. The tables are small and far too close together so although the staff are lovely they find it hard to reach customers so you practically serve yourself. Crab was pleasant and the dipping sauce piquant but the dumplings were average. We were told the jungle curry was very hot and opted for pork fried rice as were told the Krapow rice was very spicy. Bad choice. The rice was very bland and the jungle curry was spicy but not three chili hot as advertised. The Pad Thai was OK. Glad we didn't pay full price and won't return.
