It is named after the Mission San Gabriel Arcángel (which in turn was named for Archangel Gabriel), founded by Junípero Serra. The city grew outward from the mission and in 1852 became the original township of Los Angeles County. San Gabriel was incorporated in 1913. The city's motto is "A city with a Mission" and it is often called the "Birthplace" of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. At the 2010 census, the population was 39,718.

Since my trip to Thailand where I tasted fresh authentic Thai food. I haven't been able to enjoy Thai food back in the U.S. I was ruined. Everything tasted just like a poor imitation of real Thai food. But this restaurant has been the closest to authentic Thai food. The food we ordered was fresh, tasty and the service was good. I recommend this restaurant.

This location is by far more relaxing to eat at than the Alhambra location. We came in to have lunch and there was no waiting in line. I ordered my favorite Pad Thai and asked for it to be spicy. We also ordered the Combo Rice, Chicken noodle soup, and a thai ice tea. It didn't take long to get our food and there was plenty of it, enough to feed me for a couple of days. The only thing I didn't like that the Pad Thai was not spicy like I requested it to be, I had to add sriracha sauce to spice it up.

Extensive menu with a lot of the usual Thai cuisine, with lots of consideration for vegetarian modifications. (But be explicit: some dishes like the papaya salad will come with dried shrimp unless you specify what you want and donât want in every dish.) Service sizes are very generous for the prices and service is fast.
