This was fun! An "outdoor" restaurant (meaning a roof but no walls) with four "on the floor seating" platforms by the water in addition to the standard (and frankly much more comfortable) tables and chairs. Packed with locals who clearly were having no trouble with the lack of English menus ( there were mountains of food being ferried to large, happy family gatherings), this was a happening place and we were made very welcome by the cheery waitresses with minimal English. We were saved by the pictures in the menu supplemented by a bit of not so discreet pointing at dishes on other tables. The food was Thai good - meaning it was great Thai food but some dishes were spicy HOT! Important to have a lengthy & clear discussion with the waitress about "little bit spicy". Then repeat the conversation. Of course seafood was a great option but we were happy (if a little teary) with everything we ate on the two successive nights we went. Ensure ice and icy cold fruit shakes are on hand to combat those rascally chilis! I never quite got a handle on the layout of Ranong as in where exactly the town centre was located but this is close in. A few minutes by taxi (all of which seem to cost 200BT regardless of how long the trip takes which is actually quite a lot when you convert back to USD). Ask the taxi to come back at a specific time to pick you up. And do as the locals do - have fun!
I had the chance to have dinner at Khun Lin Restaurant, and I had a splendid time here. My colleagues and I had the chance to talk to the owner, who was incredibly nice and accommodating. Even though he spoke little English, we could all tell that he tried his best to communicate with us and explained each dish in detail. The Baegu Leaves Smoothie was to me, very creative and tasted very nice and refreshing. I recommend anyone who wants to eat Southern Thai food to give this restaurant a chance, and you wouldn't be disappointed!
Welcome anyone who love Thai local food in many menus with reasonable price, quantity and tatse. Otherwise, we have Fried noodle and kale soaked in gravy with pork as a special menu and favorite for customer. So We have opened around 30 years and everybod
This is a traditional restaurant, directly at a large crossing and open to the street (and therefore a bit loud). We had five different dishes and all were very good to excellent. My favorite was the "salted egg salad". Prices are very low; we paid about 400 baht. If you don't mind the street noise, this is certainly a place to go.
Very nice place with cozy atmosphere and delicious coffee. If you haven't tried thai tea, now it's good time to do so. The owners are very kind and welcoming people. We definitely recommended this place! :) - girls from Slovakia

I don't know how she does it - perhaps it's the magic marinade, the way she gingerly fans the flames to produce the perfect low and slow temperature, or just a mama's love, but this is the juiciest, most flavorful piece of chicken you will ever eat. Unlike other grilled chicken stands where the flavor is only skin deep, every tender morsel of Mama's chicken is packed with flavor. She often has specials that are not on the menu, so be sure to check with her when you order. Chicken Mama is one of the sweetest ladies you will meet on the island. Her English is very strong, so be sure to strike up a conversation. She is full of gems! She is a one woman show, so be prepared with patience if you are there during peak times. It is well worth the wait!

Steak Pizza & Grill House Southern Thai food & European Restaurant
I currently live in Ranong so me and my fiance' frequent this restaurant/bar often. We go here about once a week. It's right in the middle of town so it's close to other restaurants, bars and shops as well. They have Thai food and western food. I always go here for Pizza and their signature drinks. They make the best pizza in town. I'm a vegetarian so I love that they offer three different pizza options for me. Their signature drink is a cinnamon, lemon grass mojito. The staff is super nice as well. If you're in Ranong I absolutely recommend this place.

I ate here twice in December 2017. Reasonable prices, excellent food, English menu, friendly staff, quick service, what more could you ask for? Try the sweet and sour cashew leaf salad - unique to this region and very tasty. When other restaurants had one or two (or no) customers, J & T had 6+ tables full, popular with the locals, certainly a good sign. Will return!

Kunlin Restaurant Ranong Seafood Hot Spring Thaifood Freshcoffee
We had a one-night stay in Ranong recently and was looking for some food and was recommended by the locals to try out this restaurant which is just across the Raksawarin Hot Springs of Ranong. The decor of the restaurant is pretty creative with many "famous" characters including Bumble-bee, Iron-man, Marilyn Monroe, and etc.We find the menu is rather limited and a little pricier than the other restaurants that we have been to in Thailand. However, the food was good and service is always with a smile.Plus point about this restaurant is you can just walk across the street and into the famous Raksawarin hot springs.

Focused more on international food, the food generally is quite good here, just a little pricier than other establishments, but always foreigners eating here. I had just a snack here, in between, and found it good, and staff were attentive. Nice area to sit out front too.
