At Greedy Buddha we aim to offer our guests a refreshing and unique approach to dining in SA. We are not an Asian restaurant but our menu and our food philosophy is inspired by the tastes and flavours of South East Asia. You can dine entirely on our Tapas
What a DISAPPOINTMENT. Firstly there is no set waiter per table, anyone serves anyone, and i don't have a problem with this, HOWEVER, when you give 1 waiter an order and then a few mins later another 1 comes to you to ask if everything is ok, obv not knowing that we are still waiting for something, then that's a PROBLEM !!! - this happened a few times. the restaurant was still quiet at the time we went in, but everything took long to come to us. We ordered drinks, which was ok - too much ice for my liking. The starters, they were so bland it was like eating cardboard. no taste whatsoever. we didn't even eat like 2 pieces of each thing and asked the waiter to take it away, she didn't even bother to ask why, or if everything was ok. Then there was mains....we had the ramen with duck and crispy pork. Once again, no taste at all ! the "crispy" pork was no where near crispy, the mash tasted horrible. The ramen had no taste...the duck was so dry, it was like grated biltong. We barely ate a quarter of our meals and asked the waiter to take them away and bring us the bill and once again she didn't ask as why or even if we wanted to take the food away. the manager (i presume) was standing by the door with the rest of the staff...they where very quiet as mentioned...never came up to us to ask if everything was ok or anything. TERRIBLE FOOD and PATHETIC SERVICE. Don't even bother visiting. Please accept my sincere apologies regarding your visit to our establishment in November 2018.We, at Greedy Buddha always try to exceed our guests expectations.I have messaged you privately, please reply so we can move forward and turn your dissatisfaction into a wow experience in the near future.
Where to eat Sushi food in La-Lucia: The Best Restaurants and Bars
The Comics Food Bar and Takeaway is ideally located near the seaside, in the suburb of Glenashley (Durban, KZN-South Africa). The restaurant has an absolutely restful and relaxing atmosphere with a hint of vibrance and jovialness. The decor is inviting and welcoming. I found the place to be simply captivating! As I entered, I was greeted by a very pleasant and polite waitress/cashier who had a big, radiant and glowing smile! The other staff member was equally pleasant, polite and very helpful. I could see that they were genuinely concerned about their customers. I was surprised that the cost of the breakfast I ordered was so cheap (toast with fried egg and filter coffee) and it was very, very good, well prepared and well presented - I thoroughly enjoyed it and I did not have to wait for a very long time. What a pleasure to have a meal like it was home cooked. There is a 20% off on all meals on Mondays and there are other specials during the rest of the week. They also deliver meals to your home, business etc. Their menu has a very wide variety of dishes, serving local favorites as well as catering for those who are health conscious. Congratulations to the owner/manager on the excellence the restaurant offers in terms of the customer service, food served and offering a well maintained, super clean and safe eating environment. I highly recommend the Comics Restaurant to locals and travelers, visiting the Glenashley (Durban North) area.

We had a range of menu items and everything was very tasty: pad Thai, honey chicken, duck spring rolls, rice paper wraps etc. We had arrived fairly late and had to have our starters and mains very close together as the kitchen was closing at 9 so better to go earlier!

Craving Thai so 6 of us headed out and found this little gem in Mackeurtan Ave, Durban North. Dont expect luxury seats more like benches but the food makes up for that and the atmosphere is great. We had starters Chicken spring rolls @ R68 Crispy Wontons@R68 and Salt and pepper calamari @ R78all perfect. The Spring rolls and wontons tasted just like we remember in Phuket and not at all oily. For mains we had 3x SW1 beach salads @R88 each These salads are served on top of crispy fried spinach, the salad itself is a mix of chicken prawn calamari veggies tossed in a chilli jam absolutely fantastic and large portions we took some home.I can recommend the Sweet basil and chilli Chicken @ R88 served with steamed rice but for and extra R 10 you can have it with noodles or egg fried rice I opted for the egg fried rice and the smell of the jasmine was fantastic.I did a cooking coarse in Phuket and this was one of the dishes taught. I would find it hard to tell the difference between a dish from Phuket and this one from the Wok Box. Then 2 of us had the Crispy Pork Belly the most expensive of all our dishes @ R130 it comes with fried bok choy and a choice of noodles or rice. These were again outstanding and recommended. The wine list is small but reasonable compared to competitors we had a bottle of Buitenverwachting Buiten Blanc @ R130.Local beer is available but unfortunately no Chang or Singha! There are the usual green/red massaman curries on the menu @R88 for chicken, pork and beef and R110 for prawn, also available are a range of wok fries from R78 to R110. What really makes this place is the owners Sean and Prem Beatt. Prem is from Thailand so she brings the genuine recipes with her and Sean has been involved in a few restaurants in Durban the famous one being the Bangkok wok! So it goes without saying or to coin a phrase "we will be back"

Have been here a few times. Food is terrific. Great menu. Staff need to improve on their customer service. It's not pleasant being served by waiters who dislike their job. Have witnessed staff being rude to one another in the presence of customers. Food is over priced. Worth a visit nonetheless
