Visited this restaurant on my visit to Kolkata. We thought of having Some South East Asia food so we chose this place though Kolkata is paradise for South East Asian food especially Chinese. Since Kolkata has high standard of Pan Asian food sso we took a chance as its Accor brand restaurant. We were quite impressed by the Pan Asian Menu as it was covering the entire spectrum of the regional flavour but I was quite apprehensive of the fact if the manpower was capable of delivering the taste and quality. However having travelled across South and North Asia the menu seems bit complex when it needed to convert to ordering right item from the menu. Needless to say delivering good taste and quality is definitely rewarding for the restaurant. Not too confident we ordered Tom Yum Soup which can prove the mettle of the chef.to begin with. When the soup came it was just disgusting as it did'nt have the taste flavour and more over it was luke warm nearly cold. Seeing us uncomfortable and not taking our soup the executive came up to enquire and when we told him about the poor quality he immediately called Sr chef Benjamin ( if I remember his name correctly) who himself was disappointed and wanted to recreate the soup himself. I was quite astonished and expressed my anguish to him and had to enquire if the soup was made by some helper. However he tried his best to bring out the flavours Tom Kha but still had long way to go. We were left with least chance of experimenting as we could feel that except for Mr Benjamin there might not any other specialist that night so we didnt want to experiment so we got away having basic chinese which were no where close to Pan Asian competitor. So we hope In June 2018 when I revisit I shall have different experience. i hope to see Chef Benjamin taken his team to the basics of Pan Asian taste and flavours. The restaurant has enormous scope for improvement and this review is little late as I suddenly remembered about my next visit to the city and impending visit to Novotel. Hoping to find real taste of Pan Asia in the ensuing month

4 of us visited ASIA KITCHEN restaurant on the 4th floor of ACROPLOIS MALL, Kolkata on May 07, 2019 for Dinner. The restaurant belongs to the SPECIALITY RESTAURANTS GROUP (Mainland China, Sigree, Oh Calcutta fame) and serves Oriental Cuisine. We had read rave reviews of this place â we were not disappointed to say the least. The ambience is nice and cosy, made alive by the Open Kitchen across the tables. The people manning the restaurant are well trained and are at service helping in deciding the pairing of food for the uninitiated. For the Mains, we were served a portion Tsing Hoi Chicken with Cashew Nuts ( chunks of chicken in a spicy sauce), a portion of Roast Lamb in Mahlak Sauce (lamb sliced and served on a bed of the sauce) accompanied by 2 portions of Wok Tossed Chicken and Egg Noodles (slightly thick noodles served dry as we needed). The Choice of Noodle was as preferred by the person (Mr Sandip Mohanty) assigned to be our guideThe food was superb, the portions good enough for all 4 to have an enjoyable and full dinner. The finale was Grander â Coconut Caramel Custard served on Dinner Plates plated with White and Brown Chocolate Sauce and a dash of Strawberry Sauce as the lining. The pudding was delicious â full of cream and softened by the coconut in the base.It was an enjoyable dinner making us look forward to visiting this place soon again.Incidentally, it was our anniversary â the food doubled the pleasure!

As Shakespeare said, âAll the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely playersâ. At Zen with the kitchen on display and the bar counter as the stage, all the ingredients are merely players, playing out their parts to create vibrantly enticing art

We were at one of India's top 50 restaurants today at Ban Thai. What an incredible experience of authentic Thai cuisine with the flavours exploding in our mouth. Whoa! The food was extraordinary and we now understand what authentic Thai means.. Not the Indo Thai that most restaurants in India dish out. And that's because all the ingredients are sourced from Thailand. For me the Tom Kha soup stood out.. It was just film of flavours. The soup was flavoured with lemongrass, lime and bird eye chillies. And the dessert Tab Tim samsee that was jelkued water chestnuts in chilled sweet coconut milk. The service was extraordinary and always with a smiling face led by Neha. Kevlin, the Manager for Ban Thai was all grace and patience and fu of apology when their credit card machine was not working. Gaurav Kumar, the F&B Manager for Oberoi Grand helped me through the process of putting together the menu and being so patient, explaining everything g to me. Thank you Aparna Banerjee Paul for always putting us in contact with the right people at the hotel. Thank you my Hoichoians for celebrating food and experiences! #thehoichoigroup #Asliceofthaiforhoichoi #Thaihoichoi #theoberoigrand #kolkata #thaicuisine #hoichoians #morepowertous

It's a very lively place as the Sunday Brunch us just fabulous. Its a happening and bustling hotel, I must admit. As you enter the lobby you find people everywhere be it the main lobby or the Tea lounge and moreover the All Day dining is an extension of the lobby itself making it even more vibrant and full of life. What an amazing spread it was ! Endless salads, cold cuts, dips and dressings leading to the bread station and over to the other cuisines. Chaats and Puchkas also brightly attract on the other side.Asian spread on a cart to the Bavarian Grills and Roasts just make this Beer fest brunch worthwhile. Not to forget the pastas and pizza station which was crowded by children for obvious reasons. No Indian cuisine station can be complete without a Biryani and Mutton dish especially in Kolkata and mind it even after trying so many iconic Biryani places in the old city I still loved this Biryani to the core.Desserts or as the Bongs call it sweetly Mishti can't be ignored at all . Indian sweets and Western confectionery to bakeries the list was endless. All in all it was an amazing afternoon amongst foodie friends from Kolkata and it's a must visit for Kolkata walas, I bet the spread and service won't disappoint you at all.Dear Guest,Thank you for sharing your dining experience at JW Kitchen. We are pleased to know that you enjoyed the delicacies served and the services offered to you at the hotel.
