A Thai Shack in the heart of Leeds, serving affordable Thai food. Leave the packed lunch at home and eat with us! Close to First direct Arena in Wade Lane in Merrion Centre.
Ok so like millions of others I've been to Thailand several times and travelled around so got a good idea of what Thai food should taste like.We ordered tofu and spring roll for starters. The tofu was dry and tasteless and the spring roll pretty authentic if you were in a Chinese restaurant. At least it was tasty. We then ordered the red and green tofu curries. Neither of us finished (a first for my husband). They were so sweet and sickly. The coconut milk was thick and claggy. A few good flavours came through but still inedible. It's a shame as had one of the best Thai curries at My Thai in Bradford some time ago, clearly the menu doesn't travel.

Thai food cooked fast and fresh a menu of almost 100 choices and special foodie dishes too including all the old favourites too. 26 York Place Leeds 0113 245 0482
Quite a small basement restaurant. Very friendly and informative staff. Opted for a sample platter to start which offered an excellent selection of traditional bites, all great flavours and with range of dipping sauces.Chicken red curry with jasmine rice had the right mix of spicy heat and flavour. Prawn pad thai and the duck pad prik gang were very well received but a bit too large after starters.Excellent value accompanied by Thai beer. Wines seemed reasonably priced but next time perhaps

Visited on a Friday night and arrived just before the queuing started . Ordered a starter and a main which came together but were really tasty . Only negative comment was they cleared the starter plates before weâd finished them and they were too quick to challenge.

If you're looking for a cheap, chic and cheerful Thai restaurant in Leeds then look no further. Thai Sabai means 'a place to relax', and the staff here will go out of their way to make make you feel welcome. The dcor is simple, but the authentic fare at
Me and my boyfriend came here for the first time the other night and were very impressed with the range of vegetarian options on the menu and the very affordable early bird menu, the vegetable green Thai was gorgeous and the tofu cooked perfectly. Pad Thai was amazing and the best weâve tasted. Service was also very friendly and quick! Will definitely be returning soon

Took my family with our graduated son for dinner. As a gift from the restaurant for our graduate we had a bottle of proccesco, it was very nice and a great touch adding to our day of celebration. We did a mixed starter for 6 people which was lovely. Everyone in our party ordered different main courses and rice's. They all arrived together, all lovely flavours and tasty. We even ended up with a carry out for next days lunch as we couldn't finish everything. Service was very attentive although as the restaurant got busier the wait increased a little. This is our fourth visit to Sukhothai and I'm sure we will return again. Hi PhilsFamilyView,Thank you for sharing your experience and for choosing us for your son's graduation dinner! We are pleased to hear that you and your family enjoyed your time in our restaurant. We hope to see you all again soon.Regards

We booked in advance having read all the great reviews, we normally frequent Sukhothai across thd road. Celebrating our 28th wedding Aniversary with our family, 6 in total. We arrived on time and were seen to our table, drinks orders placed and menus ready. We ordered the set menu D. Whilst waiting you have no choice but to hear everything going on at tables next to you, about an 8 inch gap either end of the table, so no private conversations... Our food arrived, starters was very good all around, main courses all very tasty. Everyone enjoyed their food. We asked for the bill which had a 10% service charge on it. The menus said service charge for 8 or more people, this was corrected by cutting the bottom off the bill. It was good to try a different restaurant. The food is good but it is very tight, hot and quite noisy. Not sure if we'll return in the future.....PhilsFamilyView Thanks for your review. We apologies for adding the 10% service charge to your bill. Which We quickly corrected it as soon as you mentioned it. Sorry you wonât be coming back because of our 8 inch gap between the tables!....... Iâve never measured! But I guess size is important ! Nevertheless We are glad you enjoyed your food and our bring your own booze All the best Jinoâs Thai Cafe
