I was visiting friends in the city and was craving Thai so they brought me to their go-to Thai spot. The owner took our order and was friendly, obviously recognizing my friends from being there often. I ordered the butternut squash massuman curry with chicken, my friend had the prawn and curry and I cannot remember what her bf had. All our entrees were flavorful and delicious!! Easily the best Thai I've had ever!!

We arrived without a reservation, and closer to close than we had intended, but were immediately and politely shown to a table by the friendly and helpful wait staff. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, the furnishings are lovely. The food was prepared quickly, but was also clearly very fresh -they have an open kitchen, so you can even watch them prepare your food. I asked for a slight alteration to my meal (to hold the chili peppers/make it not-spicy), and the staff were happy to comply. My pad thai was delicous (and, not spicy!) and my companion's green curry was also a hit, both meals were clearly made fresh using good ingredients and very tasty. The meal came to around $30, including taxes and tip, making it a great meal for a good price. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some fantastic thai food!

STOP! BEWARE! This is not the old Lanna Thai. It has re-opened with new owners and the food in NOT the same! We ordered green papaya salad. The sauce was like over-sweet limeade and while the dish looked generous it was a small amount of green papaya over a lot of iceberg lettuce. Then we had Pad Thai, again way too sweet, almost entirely gluey noodles with 4 "prawns" and some poor quality tofu. The "Pad Broccoli" chicken with broccoli and shiitake mushrooms in garlic sauce had a sauce that tasted like it was chicken broth with a bit of soy and too much sugar - no evidence of garlic. And the dish had no shiitake mushrooms! When we asked about it we were told, "The chef forgot to put in the mushrooms." The manager did give us a credit for the dish. Service was very slow (half hour to get the entree, fifteen minutes from when we finished to get the bill). Request to look at the menu (we wanted to check if we were imaging those shiitakes on the menu) was ignored. Gone are the attractive serving dishes and appealing garnishes of the old Lanna Thai. No presentation here. Go to Citrus and Spice or Orchid Thai - you'll be glad you skipped this disappointment.

We had to wait long for everything, to get water for all, to get a server to come and take our order, to get our food , to get our check and finally, for someone to come and take our payment. It was unbelievably slow and the restaurant was not even very busy! We had three different people attend to us and they were all equally bad, with no interest in serving us, or doing anything for that matter.Food was quite good and if the service is improved, this place has potential.
