Zum Hut is one of my local watering holes. It's a small 2- floored place serving good wines, excellent international ales and decent cocktails. I first came here in summer where they have a few tables in a shaded corner by the weird shaped roundabout in Uster. We were served by a really lovely girl called Laura. She was so professional yet warm and friendly and spoke English. After a few nice ales and an excellent bottle of Portuguese white we decided to make this place our local. It features live music on certain nights, mostly jazz and other non-pop musicians. I have never been there when music has been played so cannot comment. They also serve decent food. It's nothing like the trash you get in typical Swiss bars and cafés (aromat ruined food), rather it offers fresh home prepared items such as unique cheeses, rabbit, game, oysters, home made terrines, wild mushrooms, etc...). Severin and his dad are the chefs and they do a really good job. Severin is also a friendly character and knows his food very well.I used to go every Friday night just to say hello to Laura (waitress/bartender), enjoy my favourite ale (Three Sisters) and have a decent chat with her while munching on a small appetizer. Unfortunately, Laura is no longer there and the place has lost it's special attraction, however, I will continue to go on occassion, just for the ale. While the owner (Swiss lady) has seen me there several times and knows that I'm a regular, she has never bothered to greet me or have a chat with me. Unfortunately that is clinical Swiss German hospitality: non existant. Get Laura back!

We went there spontaneously looking for a restaurant with something to offer for the kids. The food is as you expect in a classic Swiss restaurant. the kids corner was highly appreciated. Service was good and very patient with the many kids that were around. This motivate to return

Friendly family place with a lot of farm produce to buy. Cheap and cheerful (by Swiss standards!) canteen for sustenance. Good selection of beer, wine, coffee and fresh juice.Beautiful views of Pfaffikon lake, in which you can also wander down and swim in the summer.Parking can be a real pain as it's so popular. Get there early for the close car park, else you have to park 15-20min walk away.Dinner in a summer evening, with BBQ and lake views outside is a simple pleasure.Thank you very much for this wonderful feedback. We are very happy that you like our farm. We are looking forward to welcoming you again and again and again :)

This is actually a very good restaurant. It is part of the Hotel Ochsen and also has outdoor seating. The service is very good, they even have English menus, and the décor is simple but fine.Make sure you order the Pork Chop. It's a big fat juicy 350gm Pork Chop (Kotelett in German). It was very well cooked, perfectly done but still juicy and very well seasoned. Pork is often bland and over cooked. The other parties in my group ordered the Züri Gschnätzlets (Swiss german national dish of veal slices in a cream sauce) and the grilled Chicken breast. They were very well cooked. They also have a good wine list with perfect choices to accompany your meal.To be honest, I was well surprised by this restaurant and recommend it.

Wer kommen will, jedenfalls reservieren. Ich komme wieder, das ist sicher!

The place is really small, therefore it is very difficult to get in without a reservation. The food is very good. The kitchen is a mixture between swiss and modern style. Everything seems to have the proper details and flavours. It is a great place to celebrate special occasions.

The restaurants is simply awesome. The lounge outside to have an amazing Apéro and the warm and cosy dining room inside is just perfect. The food is beyond expectations and exceptional. The Ratatouille with the cognac sauce was the best I ever had in the world. The staff & owner are a pure bliss and smile nonstop while providing 3* Michelin service. Awesome place, spectacular food and even better people.

Small, charming restaurant in an old Riegelhaus. We ordered the 4-Course Menu and it was amazing. Just the right amount of food and time. We weren't rushed, and could enjoy it all. The food was delicious and innovative in its combinations of flavors. Great service as well. Not inexpensive, but well worth it. Certainly a good "special occasion" restaurant.

Enjoy our contemporary attitude across the street from Zürichâs opera house, where seasonal and local products are used as a matter of course. Executive chef David Krüger gathers herbs, berries or mushrooms on a regular basis in nearby nature reserves and
