Tiny restaurant where you can also just enjoy a good glass of Valais wine from the different local wineries. Very friendly service by Rose-Marie and Michel.Small restaurant menu with only a few local dishes such as different "fondus". Try the "fondu aux tomates" made with the local cheese and with a good balance of acidity.

This restaurant is famous not just for its situation and the views accross the Valais central, but for its excellent grilled meat, and one of the starters, snails cooked in a special mustard cream sauce. The access road is a narrow steep mountain road, with many hair pin bends, but despite that the Restaurant is usually busy.Remember to reserve in advance during the autumn saison de chasse (game season). The wine list has many good local wines, but the vin du Patron (Fendant) is recommended on good quality and value for money. The service is efficient and friendly.A visit to this restaurant is a memorable occasion, but dont forget to check the weather forecast before tackling the approach road and also to ensure you can enjoy the view.

I was looking forward to have lunch in this little and charming restaurant that produces most of vegetables served for its patrons. However, at the end of the day, I found the whole experience disappointing: food was average, very small portions, service chaotic and very slow (there was only one lady serving in the whole restaurant even though we were a group of 16 people that had booked a month in advance) and the bill expensive for what was served (I had tomato salad with cheese as starter, a quinoa risotto with hidden asparagus and veggies, one strawberry coated with chocolate and a spoon of strawberry mouse as desert. I had 1dl of white wine: 50 Swiss francs... May be if you go in a smaller group, the experience will be different.

The village of Saillon is worth the visit. A stop a the wineries a must. The caveau offers good selection of local wines and very nice plates of cold cuts and cheeses all from local producers. The decor is cosy and service very helpful in telling the stories of wines and food.

I would say the restaurant is correct.Food and service are good, but nothing amaizing. the prices matches.I had trouble understanding why they split the restaurant in different atmosphre because in the end it's all the same menus and kitchen. I guess because "why not"!I would advice to go there late, the swimming pools will be closed and the terrasse (which is next to it) is more quiet.Merci pour votre remarque. Les mets des différents restaurants sont proposés sur la même carte afin de permettre à nos clients de déguster les mets italients même s'ils sont en Brasserie.

There are only a handful of restaurants in Ovronnaz and this is the best by far. It's a nice cozy simple alpine sort of place with friendly and helpful service and has an extensive menu of Valais style dishes dried meats, fondues and raclette all washed down with the local vin du Valais - quite nice Fondant and home made puddings. You have to reserve - it's casual and there are few tourists - it's mainly locals, hikers and a few skiers at lunch time.

Welcome!
We decided to eat here based on reviews we read. This was one of the best meals we have had. We both started with the escargot bourgone. They were among the best ever! The sauce was tasty and did not overpower the snails. I had the lamb shank, which was tender and falling off the bone. My other half had the veal kidney, which he very much enjoyed. The kitchen happily accomodated our request for vegetables as a side, as we avoid fries, pasta and rice. The service was warm and friendly. A must try when in Saillon!

This is a very special restaurant and is off the beaten track, but easy to reach in the mountains...Remember don't drink then drive.....:)

During lunchtime we had the fondue moitie moitie, and as a desert cafe glace. Both fondue and desert were very good. We ate on the terras, underneath the platane-trees. The service was friendly. Realy a place I recommend. Compared to other restaurants in Switzerland, I would say the prices are average (but compared to other European countries the prices are very high).

Nestled amongst the mountains, Le Refuge de Frience offers a cozy, warm respite from the rigours of the stunning natural beauty that surrounds it. Whether taking a break from the summer sun for a refreshing drink, or enjoying satisfying, traditional Swiss
My wife and I had an impromptu dinner at this excellent mountain restaurant where the food and wine was excellent and highly recommended. Moreover next to the restaurant a swimming lake has been created with a lively beach, bbqs and beautiful views. Well worth a visit and free entrance. It will be a great pleasure to welcome you and your wife at your next visit.
