Reviews on Swiss food in Grindelwald, Canton of Bern, Switzerland. Grindelwald is postcard-perfect, a charming example of a Swiss ski resort. There are slopes for all experience levels, plus plenty of snowy activities for those who don’t ski, such as sledding, hiking or snowshoeing. Not feeling particularly active? Just cozy up by crackling fire and enjoy the merry atmosphere. After a long day, nothing’s better than lingering over a pot of Swiss fondue and a glass of crisp wine as you plan the next day’s adventures.

Stopped in for lunch after arriving in Grindelwald. Really surprised at how good the sandwiches were at Alte Post. Very fresh ingredients. Had the salami sandwich and it was outstanding. Fresh homemade pickles as well. Yummy. Service was good.

As lot of places in the Jungfrau Region, the terrace of the Berggasthaus is rightly oriented to see the Eiger-Monch-Jungfrau trilogy.Food is correct and a bit pricey but your are paying the view!To stay in the mood, just take the Bergteller with local dried meat and cheese.

Found this restaurant on Trip Advisor - it ticked all the boxes for our group of six. It was asparagus season and there was a special menu incorporating the region's white asparagus. Several of us ordered the chicken with asparagus and risotto - delicious! The margarita pizza was also very good (especially as a snack the next day). Our only complaint was that they wouldn't seat us in the dining room as it was "reserved" for hotel guests. The room was empty when we arrived and empty when we left. The room where we ate as well as the service was fine. The menu offered lots of choices, and the food was good.

Learning that thereâd be a folk band playing, we headed to the Grund train station on the edge of Grindelwald to dine at its Swiss/Pizzeria restaurant. The menu, offering the usual Swiss specialties, was more reasonably priced and felt homier than most of the options in Grindelwald. The small pizzas were actually huge and hearty, and could have easily fed two. Our waiter, on his first day, was still fabulous and the three-piece folk band was a treat â we enjoyed hanging out until the evening thunderstorm passed. Easy parking across the bridge.

In every one of our restaurants, in the Kreuz Restaurant, the Challistubli and in the Panorama-Dining room, it is all about pampering. You explore a fresh and nice cuisine inspired by the seasons and our local products. We offer honesty and great taste, r
You can grab a quick bite here in this their more informal cafe restaurant where the service is sharp and attentive just what is needed before boarding the train.

The Bistro with charm! Original selected cheese- and potato specialties for the small and big appetite. Warm and cold snack assortment throughout the whole day. Open the whole year around.
We asked for a little more time when the waitress came to take our order. She came back a few minutes later and said âcan you order now, all the other guests have already orderedâ. The waiter was just as bad - he gave my kids the nastiest look. He was carrying food out to customers sitting outside as we were entering the restaurant and he nearly tripped over our kids. I understand heâs in a rush and my kids were in his way. But itâs not like my kids were running around. We were just waiting to be seated and the entryway is small. On top of the horrible service, the food was awful and there were flies everywhere. We ordered a few rosti - one was basically a hot dog with egg and hash browns. The Dracula nightmare was a very bad nightmare. We were here for dinner and 2 of us didnât feel good the next morning.Dear guest, we are very sorry about the bad experience you had to do in our restaurant and would like to apologize for all circumstances caused to you. Please excuse us!

Any time of the day, come and eat and drink with us, whether for dinner in the restaurant, a sip of wine in the wine cellar, a cake with coffee or tea in the afternoon or just to make sure your breakfast is just as you wish to start your day. Inspired by
We had dinner here a few times and it was always a great moment, Felix and all service staff were cordial and helpful. Food warm and delivered fast despite of a restaurant full and two table of 12+ adults once.Wine list is crazy with some competitive price for amazing bottles and the Tomahawk steak is simply to die for!Better call to book a table as they are victim of their success.

Staff were friendly enough, but my main course (the trout) was quite bland, and the portion very small - and I had deliberately chosen the "large" portion size. Looking back at the many 'excellent' reviews, I have to confess that I'm suspicious: look at them yourself and make your own judgement. The view was wonderful, but would I go back again myself? Sorry, but no.

Hotel restaurant with amazing view from the window tables over the valley and to the Eiger north face. Open in winter from 7:30 to 10:30 and from 18:30 (kitchen until 21:00), in spring and summer from 7:00 to 10:00 and from 19:00 (kitchen until 21:30). Fo
We were in the area as supporters for two runners in the ultra trail runs...The places along the Dorfstrasse tend to be Brasserie style. But the Belvedere provided all one could expect of a high class Restaurant without being in anyway more expensive. We booked and our name was remembered..a table on the balcony..clean tablecloths, rolls,water..attentive service...good to see student waiting staff. The trout was well presented, sophisticated in taste and generous. The same applied to the Sorbets...a marked contrast to one of the « Brasseries ».So a hidden gem. Has it to do with fact it is proudly run the third generation of a family and not by a chain?Dear Restaurant guests, there were many runners in our hotel and also many supporters. Already a week before, several runners were staying for their training. Many thanks for having visited our restaurant. We are very happy to read, that you enjoyed the service and the food. I imagine that you will be coming again next year. Thank you also for the wonderful review. With best regardsUrs-B. Hauser, owner
