Things to do in Varmdo
The Cafe is in the middle of an open air shopping-centre, which is next to several supermarkets, so its perfect for lunch or cafe after shopping. They offer several lunch menus from salads to fish. We had "Fish and Shrimps" which was very nice and Kottbullar (good, but the dry kids-Version). The Cappuccino and the cakes are delicious. The staff is super friendly. Good place for a stop.
At our place you can enjoy great tasting waffles in a very cosy environment. You can also purchase the chair you are sitting on or maybe the painting on the wall! Wellcome!
This cosy little place with an cute traditional swedish log cabin design serves both savory and sweet waffles, which is amazing. I had never tried savory waffles before and it took me by surprise how delicious they were. The only thing I didn't like was that we waited nearly one hour for the waffles to arrive, so don't mistake this to be a quick grab & go place.

A great seasonal summer restaurant and bar in the Stockholm archipelago, right on the water.
Good news : The location is great with good parking if you travel with car or boat ! Good selection of beerBad News : Very mediocre food . Was excited when i ordered the "råraka with löjrom" But so dissappointed about the taste . Probably made a day earlier and just heated ....eish !
This little hotel and restaurant is located in a beautiful, historical place in the Stockholm archipelago, in Värmdö. You can best reach the place by own car, if possible stay a night and enjoy this peaceful place as it is, and let the view over the narrow sound with all kind of boats passing be your only inspiration. The kitchen and service are both exellent and the restaurant is worth a visit also just for a dinner, if you can't stay a night. At the menu you will find not many but very well done Swedish dishes. My choise was a fish of the day and it was amazing good. Of course, make a reservation in advance, also if only coming for a dinner.

As a local resident in Värmdö, Bistraud is the premium location for a great meal. The location is absolutely great. Big outside-seating just above the sea and the beach. The food is very good, with good specials each day. Kind of a mix of traditional Swedish food with a foreign (french) twist. Prices are reasonable and the service is always top of the line. Also good with kids, which gets crayons, etc upon arrival. There is also a small playground on the beach where you have good view of them from where you are sitting if they get restless during coffee and wants to run around on the beach. Well worth a visit if visiting Stockholm, the direct-buses (a 30 minute ride) to outer Värmdö from Slussen stops just outside.

Bistro Magasinet is located on the third floor of our building and on the second floor we have a big roof terrace with an amazing view over Waxholm old fortress. It's the prefect place to enjoy a glass go wine and a delicious meal. Here you can sit back,
Visited Vaxholm on a lovely sunny day in May and we stumbled across Bistro Magasinet and decided to have lunch. The views from the terrace were superb and the staff so friendly and welcoming. We opted for the homemade Köttbullar which were totally awesome with lovely potatoes, lingonberry and picked cucumber and some local beer.By the time we left the place was heaving and the other food on the menu looked and smelled delicious, the salads and the toast Skagen definitely caught my eye!

We had the shrimps tower ( very good) and Kottbullar ( nice) and beer from lidl and juice from USA ( not so nice). The location is great and the employees are fantastic.

Getting away for a while is something that we all deserve. We have thought of this when we have decorated our rooms for overnight stays. On the farm there are many beautiful buildings that we have gradually renovated with the idea of preserving the charac
A fine christmas fair with both homemade crafts and made by people in a more professional way. Homemade sausages, knitted caps, socks, santas, gloves etc. They have some hens, sheeps and alpacas if I am.not misstaken. In the summer they have fotball golf, miniature golf and an adventure course. I would recommend you to buy the wristband to be able to do all three.

Such a shame..... the food is serious and good tasting but waiting for 90 minutes brings down or even crashes the experience. I would have love to top rank the place but cannot recommend anyone without an abundance of time and patience to visit. But if you do and have the food or will be all good

Stopped here for lunch whilst working on a boat. Very unpleasant experience over all. I got served raw pork and as I complained I got the look like I was complaining about nonsense, waiter didn't even bother to apologize and was somewhat uninterested on taking the plate back to the kitchen. Hence, got my food properly cooked and it was ok tasty, nothing to hype about. The other thing was that we got our after lunch coffees before the actual food and after the lunch we got asked if we liked our coffees now, whilst having our empty coffee cups standing there in front of us. Getting the coffees before hand didn't really bother us that much, but the waiters incompetence and careless attitude towards his job was just marvellous. Over all the staff seemed to be clueless and felt like half of them didn't even want to be there. I know it's a seasonal job, but please. Anyways, wouldn't recommend the place, but over that area you don't really have too much choice.
