We were a quite large group of people that decided to land here after singing in the nearby church. The location is very central and, considering it was winter time and there was no outdoor serving, it is reasonably big and with a nice atmosphere. At the time of our visit, we had a problem with one of the people of our group. The restaurant staff shown to be very flexible and reasonable and try to adapt to the sudden changes. The food was quite ok. There was some quite typical swedish dishes in the menu. I honestly do not remember what I took, but I remember that I enjoyed it, even though I didn't think it was exceptional food and possibly, a tiny bit more expensive than it should.Alltogether the evening turned out to be pleasant and I think Cimbris deliver what you expect.

Röken is a very nice place with a great view over Simrishamn's sea. It is mostly a fish restaurant, but they also have a few meat dishes. I had a starter, bruschetta with garlic and crab: the portion was very small and the taste was just ok. In my opinion it didn't justify the 95 SEK price. I then ordered a burger, or, as they call it, SimrishamnsBurgare. To my surprise I was brought a patty made of herring, not meat. I usually like herring, but I really really disliked the taste of this "burger". Nowhere in the menu it was written that it was a fish burger and, since they have a couple of meat dishes in the menu, I had assumed the burger was made of meat as well. I asked the waiter and he answered "SimrishamnsBurgare is made of herring" like it was a well known fact. It wasn't to me: I later googled for it and couldn't find anything about it. Anyway, since I could not eat it, the waiter let me exchange it for something else: I had some delicious fish and chips which I really enjoyed. The dessert was delicious too, even though the portion was quite small for the price, even by Swedish standards. All in all, a nice place with service minded people, but the experience left me partly disappointed.

It is also called Nya Rá½ keriet. This is the second time I have visited this place for lunch - very impressed both times! You queue up to order and pay and they will bring the order when ready. There is an outside terrace (for when the wind is not blowing which is rare in this part of the world!).The first time we had Fried Herring - never had better - the second time we had the daily dish, which was a Salmon, perfectly cooked. This is certainly the best fish restaurant on the entire east and south coast of Skania!

Well stocked store with fine foods for both pantry and to eat fresh. Buffet at lunch. Simple stools and chairs, a little tight between. Fresh warm pies, several Mediteranean style salads, couple of cold hams, fresh fruit, bread and cheese. Many of the platters were almost empty when we arrived, but were filled while we ate. Healthful food and very good value.

We were recommended this place by our hotels front desk, checked out trip advisor, became happy and made a reservation. Food was everything as described here, tasty, well cooked and creative as well as very reasonable priced hence as a foodie experience you should not miss out if in Simrishamn. Thank you to the kitchen for a very nice and unexpected treat! However, our evening at Hickory Bistro and our overall experience became somewhat tainted by several small interactions with one of the waitresses. (in the name of fairness, the other waitress turned out to be the complete opposite to âoursâ i.e. calm, attentive, kind and professional). Walking home after a very nice meal our conclusion was that staff is essential! The kitchen can dish out the best food ever, but if it is not served with care or if the professional people around you i.e. the waitresses not are calm, attentive and sombre it ends up as sour experience and that is not what you want when you go out and eat. To be fair she might have had a very horrible day or week, what do we know, she might not have liked us or whatever. Regardless her job is to make us happy and most importantly the kitchens hard work justice. It was no biggy but we encountered tree small niggling interactions with her that was enough for us to become less happy overall with the Hickory Bistro which is not fair towards them at all. We will try it again as once is nothing but twice is a habit but if these reviews are read by the proprietors of Hickory bistro I would do a staff pep talk before summer high peak to sort out not so very professional behaviours before too late. Our overall rating should have been exellent!

What a wonderful meal we have just had, as a family of four. They offer just two, 3-course menus, though you can mix and match between them. Portions are generous, food is divine and arrives beautifully presented. They use stunningly fresh ingredients, nothing fussy or over done; huge care and attention is taken in selection of ingredients and presentation. It's imaginative and delicious. It is deservedly booked up every night, we emailed from England ahead of our stay and they were very happy to book us in on our of our nights in the area. The staff are very friendly and helpful which all adds up to a great evening.

We invite you to a cosy and homely atmosphere. At our place you can stay in a lovely room, have vegetarian dishes, tasty meat and fish and delicious desserts!
Our second visit to the missing fork restaurant. Not surprisingly we ate fish dishes which were top quality, served with very good sauces and potatoes. We drank white wine and had coffee after the main course as neither of us could manage desserts. However, from a glance around the crowded dining room it looked as if most of the other diners were happily guzzling ice cream, cheeses, etc!
