Food was very good - started off with fried spring rolls, very good and fresh. Wife had the chicken cashew (no. 2 hot) - lots of chicken and very good -but not at all spicy. I had beef and veggie with rice. Very good - tried the 3 hot - not hot at all. They go to 4 - I'll have to ask what Thai hot is then try and adjust from there. They did bring out the spice rack and with the pepper oil I fired it up. Waiter was busy and the owner just kinda stood there - service would have been much better if the owner had walked around with drinks and said hello. But food was good and we'll go back.

Okay, friends: Christmas Day, 2017. Over many hours of travel from North Carolina to Winchester, VA, my brother, nephew and I entertained ourselves with visions of a tasty Chinese Christmas Supper. A reward, if you will, at the end of our long journey. My brother recalled seeing this Chinese buffet during his previous visits to Winchester, and while I know that there are risks inherent to the Chinese buffet situation, I'm an optimist at heart. All hesitation was overruled by fantasies of steamed broccoli and spring rolls. My nephew imagined fresh, life-giving sushi and a cup of hot tea. It was absolutely frigid out, so while brother helped nephew get his coat and shoes on, I waited in the lobby. This gave me a few minutes to take in the atmosphere. Candy machines...fine. Faded and curled photos of seemingly satisfied customers...okay, great. Maybe my picture would be up there someday. Printouts of video surveillance shots of customers who left without paying...hmm...I think I get it...not cool to rip off a mom n' pop Chinese buffet. Next thing you know, we were greeted by a cheerful host in a Santa cap who offered us a booth only steps from the buffet. His smile was contagious. We were off to the buffet smiling and full of hope. Only a few steps into our journey we hit red flag number 1: the goldfish pond, a shallow, stagnant affair whose residents seemed to warn, in bubbles and blinks, "TURN BACK NOW." Undeterred, we reached the buffet and surveyed the offerings. Hmm, eerily similar to the fish pond, as it turned out. I circled each of the six steam tables, eager to come in for a landing. Nothing signaled to me. I circled again. Nothing. Mysterious chunks suspended like biological specimens in formaldehyde baths. I see my brother at the grill. What's this, I ask, empty plate in hand, hope fading. Oh, he says, you can pick your veggies and meats, and they'll hibach them for you, all fresh-like. No funny liquids or mysterious sauces...promise. Friends, if you've read this far and still feel compelled to make your way to the Winchester Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet, please note that the grill is an oasis in otherwise uncertain territory: you may not form lifelong relationships there, but I can almost guarantee that you will escape unharmed. I wish the same could be said for the steam table offerings: desiccated beef tacos of dubious provenance, deeply-fried whole fish with cloudy eyes cast upward in expressions of unrelenting disappointment, and just bin after bin of untrustworthy meats suspended in oily liquids. I channeled my inner Hall & Oates, "I can't go for that, no-ooo. No can do." Brother, nephew, and I reconvened at our saggy vinyl booth to compare notes over a pot of weak tea and toast another holiday adventure. While this is a sad place to find yourself on Christmas day (or any day), my one star goes to the staff who gave cheerful holiday greetings and worked to keep the tables and floors clean throughout our visit.

I ate here with some co-workers, 5 of us in the party. The chef pt on a good show, was very friendly and talkative. In a good way. The food was cooked in front of us, and mine was really good. I'd go back.

We've eaten at the same style restaurant in north Winchester and in Front Royal VA and the Okinawa follows the same style where you are seated in a semi-circle around a grill. In our case (me, youngest son and his two kids) were seated with 2 other families with all the seats filled. As with the other restaurants, the cook comes out and does his little performance banging the utensils around, making an onion volcano and tossing pieces of chicken into open,m waiting mouths around the table(if you desired!). If you haven't been to one of these restaurants, it's pretty entertaining the first time. When serving the food, I was kind of surprised that the meat, rice and veggies were served at pretty much the same time - novel idea instead of serving the meat, then the rice and then the veggies pretty much separately! Prices are the same as the other restaurants I mentioned - maybe they're all owned by the same company? The service was pretty good at bringing out the soup and salad and drinks and as I mentioned, the food being pretty much served by the cook at the same time. I wouldn't make it a habit to go to these type places, but once in awhile is OK

My wife and I visited for Lunch on Saturday afternoon July 14th. We were promptly seated and given menus. We asked about the special oysters on the chalk board outside the front door and she informed us they were out of Oysters. The waitress came back a few minutes later and we ordered a couple Stone Pot Bi Bim Bob. We told the waitress we also wanted to order some sushi so please leave the sushi order form and a pen with us. She did and came back about five minutes later and we ordered three sushi items. About 20 minutes later we received the three sushi orders. We proceeded to eat the sushi expecting our Stone Pots to be served soon. After we finished the sushi and she cleared the table she came back and asked if we wanted anything else. We asked her about the Bi Bim Bob that we ordered. She proceeded to argue with us that we never ordered any Stone Pots. My wife and I both knew what we ordered and it was shocking that she argued. She seemed to us to be a little spaced out. We told her to forget it and left. The only reason I gave it two stars is the Sushi was good. We were also surprised that the chalk board menu hadn't been updated for a Special that they no longer had available. It still hadn't been updated when we left. We probably won't be back.

My wife and I ordered take out. It was ready when I got there and was hot and fresh. We both order fried rice with chicken. One was Thai style and one regular. Both were wonderful. Restaurant looked very busy when I arrived to pick up food.

Have had take out from Chinatown many times and wanted to try their lunch buffet. We arrived about 11:30 with only 3 other tables seated. The buffet was very well loaded with many of choices. Wait staff offered us soup which is included with buffet price. Food was excellent and within 20 minutes of being there the whole restaurant had every table filled with customers a good sign that this is the place to eat.
