Find out what Sushi restaurants to try in Turku. Turku (Finnish pronunciation: [ˈturku] ( listen); Swedish: Åbo [ˈoːbʊ] ( listen)) is a city on the southwest coast of Finland at the mouth of the Aura River, in the region of Southwest Finland. Turku, as a town, was settled during the 13th century and founded most likely at the end of the 13th century, making it the oldest city in Finland. Yasukon keittiö serves Japanese everyday home cooking, and some sushi and other more common dishes. Everything is well-prepared and tasty, perhaps a little milder for the Finn taste. Yasuko's seats less than 20 people, but more than 10 customers mean you might have to wait for your food. But it's worth it.

We went out to eat lunch at the end of the lunch hour. The billboard was still outside. The selection of sushi was terribly small, about five different species. After we had eaten the appetizers, the waiter came to tell us that they were taking away the food. We went to get some plates of what was left.

There seems to be some kind of sushi boom going on as Turku has seen many new restaurants during the last few years. Kobe is a fairly new one that replaced the French and American restaurants that used to be in the place before. I'm very happy about that as I love sushi and Kobe is conveniently situated with free parking just outside. It's a bit outside the city centre, but still within walking distance.Kobe is run by a young and friendly crowd and they've managed to create a nice Japanese atmosphere.I've once tried out their inexpensive and extensive lunch buffet, but I had difficulties to find a free seat as the place isn't that big, but extremely popular. In the evening there has always been free tables. When I've been there in the evening I've just been sitting in order to get my takeaway. Usually they have it made in about 20 minutes, but this time the apologised that it might take more than 30 minutes. I didn't mind as it's nice to sit there and watch the interior and customers and at the same time it's a guarantee that I'm served freshly made sushi. They offer a 20 percent discount an takeaways, which might be the best deal in town.I usually take a sushi mix, which they have in different sizes. They do have an extensive menu, but so far I've only tried the different mixes and the buffet. Except sushi they also serve other Asian dishes, some of which are included in the buffet.

Being a Australian in Finland I'm amazed at the 10 euro lunch deals they have everywhere, but this one stood out. Situated in a little market-like center kado sushi was the perfect little lunch to have, not too much food but good value for money. Fresh fish, sticky rice, and a beautiful miso soup before the meal. If I could have a whine about something, it would be that they didn't have any English menus. Thanks kado!!

Continuing the Izakaya tradition Karu offers food and drink in a laid back atmosphere. Our dishes are designed to be shared between the entire table, or at least good friends. Made from the freshest ingredients our food respects Japanese culture with a mo
Although we are not so fond of sushi we booked a table from Karu. Starters was something totally different than sushi: tiger prawns with chili mayo, small softshelled crayfish burger and ribs with a perfect glazing/sauce. So perfect! For the main course we got sushi which was also good.
