We wanted to try something new at Pechanga and Umi looked great! Made reservations thru OpenTable for 8:00PM Saturday. Everything was outstanding and we tried a lot! of variety! Sure beats Blazing Noodles and the Food Court.

Local who doesn't fully appreciate the sushi concept suggests: try the "cowboy". Not bad! Of course, your sushi comrades will needle you, but that's o.k. At least you can participate.

This place can get crowded for dinner. We always go for a late lunch. It is so fun to watch your chef cook your food right in front of you. The fried rice is delicious. The steak and seafood are both great options. It is fun for all ages that are old enough to sit still. When we went one of our pieces of tempura was broken (and missing half of the vegetable). We reported it, and they brought us a whole new plate. We also enjoy the sushi there.

Bamboo House Asian Bistro

Happy, indeed, when we walked into this establishment at around 3:45 PM on a nice Saturday afternoon. Prior to this visit we had never fears of it, and we been around the Temecula area 2+ years. Much to our delight we came to find out we had arrived between 3-6 PM, for their 7 days a week Happy Hour. Before we even venture into unknown territory, we did use Yelp, for we were not about to walk voluntarily into a dud of unknown proportions.Phiby? greeted us at this quiet hour of our arrival, with a heart warming smile, and a pleasant disposition, and upon being seated mentioned that all appetizers were $5. So we mostly concentrated on that part of the menu.I should add that the place was nicely decorated, with temple like qualities, that I am sure are conducive to a fine experience. We order 5 appetizers to start the show, at 5 each we figured how could we go wrong. Must point out that we mostly shied away from their Sushi offerings, that apparently is well liked.Summer Rolls, two cut each in half, with an enticing sauce. Freshly made (I would hope so!) with part Pork, and part crunchy vegetables. Deep fried Calamari, the coating light and crispy, and brought piping hot to our hands. It seemed all the pieces were uniform in size, no tentacles, etc. Still, we ordered this one again, since a good fried Calamari is no daily occurrence.Pork Egg Rolls. Somewhat darker than the ideal tone, but good enough to where we also order this choice again. 5 Egg Rolls per order. Lemon Grass Beef, very soft Beef covering the lemon grass plant? I ended up eating most of it in our party of 3, two beautiful ladies and one not so beautiful man who happens to be me.Sushi Ribeye, cut paper thin and apparently uncooked. On the menu is listed at $12 each, so curiosity did the rest. Actually a very light, probably one or two ounces at the most, but ver easy to enjoy.Won Ton Soup with Chicken wontons, the broth very light, won tons with chicken inside, very small but somewhat plump. Broth had the consistency of water, but the taste was all its own, with plenty of spinach? leaves floating about. We did not try any of their regular menu entrees, that fluctuated between $12 to $18, but chances are a second visit will be in order. Place looked nice and clean, bathrooms specially so on both sexes. Large statue of Buddha inviting any one to chant inwardly an uplifting mantra. Water had no after taste, which is always a good thing. Service at the hands of exotic looking Phebe? was ever present and truly friendly. Bill was $46 plus, and 20% went to our lovely host. Overall, a nice time with decent food. Bamboo House merits a return visit. 4 Stars.
