It was a wet night and there were lots of people looking forward to having sushi. Their offerings are good, the prices are fair and the service was okay considering the mob scene that evening.I just wish they had some shochu for me. They have it sometimes, but not last Saturday.

Our family of 3 generations visited this restaurant last evening and several ordered sushi while others ordered Chinese. A few had soup which came quite quickly; then the sushi arrived which only 1/2 of the people ordered. The remaining orders weren't deliver until the sushi eaters had finished the sushi. This gives little credit to the chef, or perhaps the order takers, that the table cannot be served simultaneously so that all can eat together.I find this a simple problem to rectify but I do see it as a problem when a larger group is wanting to dine together.

Went there to pick up some take out, and had a hard time finding them. They're in a corporate business park, but once I sorted that out, I was really impressed. The restaurant is lovely inside, with a sushi bar,. and plenty of tables. Great decor, very friendly staff. We had two different Maki rolls, the Volcano roll, and the Tempura Shrimp roll. Both were excellent. We also had Gyoza (good), Golden Tofu (unfortuntely lost it's crispiness by the time we were able to sit down and eat), and teriyaki. Their teriyaki sauce was excellent, not over-sweet like some.

Kamikaze appeared in San Rafael, CA's Montecito Shopping some time in the 80s. It's established itself as a place for singles, couples, families and parties of all kinds, with many "regulars" from the local neighborhoods. The restaurant is in a corner with a large picture window view of the hills of west Marin. They serve all the usual choices and it's very fresh. Service has been fairly swift when I've gone a number of times over the past few months. There is a "Happy Hour," M-Th, 5-6:30 p.m. and 4:30-6 on Sundays, with $2 deals on hand rolls, "yaki" sticks and barbecued oysters, as well as $3 draft beers. Getting there early is a good idea as it can be very popular during peak hours, especially on Fridays and Saturdays.
