The food was tasty and the waitress was extremely helpful and patient(I was with someone who's never tried sushi before). They also have some cooked options for those who aren't so sure of raw fish. The only downside is the size of the restaurant, but it doesn't really effect your dining experience

Very nice place, friendly atmosphere, staff dedicated to good service and food of very good quality, all this in a refined and tasteful environment, in a garden by the sea with an excellent infrastructure, whether for a couple or a group of friends recommend!

Ci tengo a precisare che adoro la cucina giapponese tradizionale eseguita da cuochi giapponesi e detesto gli all-you-can-eat o i ristoranti a gestione cinese che tentano di emulare la cucina nipponica.Presso Koma ho avuto modo di apprezzare una cucina giapponese non solo improntata sul sushi bensì una cucina tradizionale a tratti casalinga che strizza lâocchio alla cucina occidentale.Ho preso il menu degustazione piu altri piatti.Nasu Dengaku,ovvero una fetta di melanzana fritta condita con salsa di miso,erba cipollina e Ito Togarashi.à stato fra i piatti che più ho apprezzato,forse a voler trovare il pelo nellâuovo direi che la melanzana non era stata asciugata bene dallâolio di frittura.La qualità della stessa era italiana,quindi dalla buccia spessa,piuttosto che la classica melanzana orientale più sfilata e dalla buccia molto sottile,ma questo non preclude un gusto esplosivo che credetemi crea dipendenza!Molto buono anche il carpaccio di pesce con yuzu, così come lâantipasto con base croccante di riso e tonno,ne avrei mangiati almeno una decina.Per quanto concerne il Ramen invece è stato lâunico piatto che ahimè non ho apprezzato granché e non perché non fosse eseguito con cura,tuttavia perché la fusione oriente/Occidente è eccessivamente sbilanciata.Di fatto anche il brodo,che è la componente fondamentale di un buon Ramen, era troppo occidentale per i miei gusti. Avrei preferito un gusto più orientale,magari con qualcosa che variasse anche gli assaggi,tipo un pak Choi o perché no un ajitsuke tamago.Peccato anche la mancanza di erba cipollina che poteva ârinfrescareâ il palato negli assaggi.Tuttavia la carne,maialino nero calabrese,era succulento e molto saporito.Discorso molto simile per il Kakuni, pancetta brasata. Gusto esplosivo affiancato a sapori occidentali tipo il purè di sedano rapa. Di tutto il piatto ho apprezzato tanto il cavoletto fermentato che dava quel tono acidulo e fresco ad un piatto dal gusto impegnativo. Tuttavia il piatto lâho di gran lunga preferito al Ramen.Infine il dolce; il tiramisù al Matcha era anche questo perfettamente eseguito e con ingredienti genuini e fatti in casa (pan di Spagna).Questo è il menù degustazione,in più ho assaggiato lâinsalata con sashimi,molto buona e ben condita e gli hosomaki con gambero e shiso,strepitosi.Per quanto riguarda il servizio è stato eccellente,non eccessivamente formale,ma di ottima competenza nel saper consigliare e spiegare i piatti. Bellissima la mise en place che variava ad ogni portata!Ho apprezzato davvero tanto il sake di fine pasto con la spiegazione delle sue differenti tipologie.In definitiva lâesperienza a Koma è ampiamente promossa. Il costo è in linea con i grandi e indiscussi ristoranti giapponesi italiani (tipo Poporoya a Milano tanto per citarne uno).E sebbene Reggio Calabria non sia Milano ritengo che il conto è in linea con quanto da loro proposto.Si capisce anche la freschezza degli ingredienti dal fatto che vengano proposti pesci locali tipo la palamita o il polipo e non lo scontatissimo salmone che contrariamente a quanto siamo abituati è davvero poco presente sulle tavole giapponesi.Lâunico rimpianto per il sottoscritto è non abitare in zona altrimenti âsarei in Komaâ tutte le settimane!Porgo i miei più sentiti complimenti allo chef e al personale di sala.Alla prossima!

This is a lovely little restaurant. It is tastefully decorated and the staff are warm, friendly, and efficient. I will add (because this type of thing is important to me and there must be others!) that the music was out of place (acid lounge jazz) and a touch too loud.The food, which is why you're really coming here, is fantastic. We went for a mix of all different things and every single one was perfect. Honestly, some of the best sushi I have had in Europe. Although, this quality is reflected in the price, which is high for the area.Another issue is that for a restaurant with the tagline "sushi & wine", the wine selection is almost non-existent. There are certainly no more than around 10 wines in total (red, white, sparkling, etc.) and none of them are anything to get excited about.Little gripes aside though, it's a restaurant I'd recommend due to the skills of their chef.
