Japanese Grill

This is a shopping center style restaurant...one that the locals go to. The owners take pride to recognize and acknowledge their repeat customers. We recommend trying this grill for lunch. Not only are the sushi rolls large, tasty and unique, they have a deal of Buy Two Get One Free. We loved the Volcano Roll with a baked fish with jalapeño mushrooms in a spicy mayo over a Cali roll, a wonderful Tempura Shrimp Roll with cucumbers, eel sauce and lots of crunchies on top, and a Spicey Tuna Roll which was claimed to be the best STR ever. The Miso Soup was wonderful, too.

We got the nomination box and the 7th street rolls. The chicken was strange.. texture rubbery and it tasted a little strange...the tempera vegges were good. The 7th Street rolls were great, but I wish the crab had been more like lump crab and less like mush. The service was very slow... and there plenty of employees walking around... just not near our table and there were only 6 tables with guests... I'm told the hibachi experience is really what they are known for... well... no one was there at lunch for hibachi.

Asian King Buffet

IF you're considering dining with this establishment you should ask yourself how much do you like cold food. I was in there at 11:20 on Sunday morning when everything should be fresh, hot, and not picked over. A couple things were at a decent serving temperature, but the bulk of the main courses were not.I had egg drop soup, some fried rice, broccoli beef, green beans, boiled shrimp, an egg roll, and some of those triangle shaped fried cheese things. Only the egg roll and the soup were at temperature. I regret that I don't like broccoli beef that is cold to the touch, nor green beans, nor peel and eat shrimp that's not served on ice. I walked away and left most of my plate on the table.Upon arriving at the cashier and paying my bill I expressed my displeasure with their cold food. Typical for this type establishment they searched high and low for reasons it was my problem. First, they told me I should stir the food, and when that wasn't winning them anything they pointed to the clock saying we just opened. In my world neither of those are valid reasons for the steam tables being cold. In their own special way they told me they don't give a flip. I made note of that and will remember this the next time.Asian King Buffet came out of the starting gate like gang busters, but they have been there long enough to get complacent. They are cutting food quality, and offerings and it's becoming obvious to the customer. Restaurants are burdened with having to taste good, else they will never survive. This one is working hard to alienate the customer in tiny increments. I don't care to hear a bunch of excuses; the food wasn't good, and that's their problem; not mine to remedy.I don't recommend this place and it's not likely I'll come back.

This place is somewhere that my family goes on a very regular basis. It's one of our default places. What I love is that I'm the only one of the four of us that likes Sushi, but they get food they like that is non-sushi while I get my sushi fix. The fried rice is really good, and we are picky about fried rice. We have tried several things and they've all been good here. Yes the prices are a little higher than others, but it's still the best sushi by far in the area.We always go for dinner. Yes, the service can be slow as other reviews have noted. But, they often remember you here and will take care of you, it's just a little understaffed. The sushi chef always knows who we are and does a great job for us. In short, it's very hard to please everyone in my family as we have picky eaters. This place does it. Give it a try, but don't be in a hurry when you go :)

I took my son to this little sushi joint for his birthday (grown son). We ordered one of the bigger combo plates and asked for substitutions (some sushi restaurants don't allow this). Our server gladly made the subs for a nominal fee, i think it was $1. The Miso Soup was great, the sushi was great. Then my son introduced me to a yummy dessert...Mango Mochi...aaaaaaaaamazing! Parking is a little hectic because it's next to a movie theater, but definitely worth a visit!

The first thing that impresses you is the selection on the menu. Several types of Asian food including Sushi and standard Asian fare are available. Recently the restaurant started serving alcohol. The food is very good and the fried rice is, in my opinion, some of the best in the area. Delivery and take out also available.
