What can you say; you need to book weeks, or even months in advance. It's so popular because it's so special. Chef Yamamoto combines traditional Japanese cuisine with local dutch ingredients. He investigates and researches the best of both worlds. Not always with outstanding results but always an exciting experience.And then you can get a sake, directly imported from Japan, to match most every dish. The only downside, you can't get in on a spur of the moment..

I'm rating this very good for what it is, a buffer restaurant. It doesn't quite compare to a normal restaurant. IT's a fairly new place behind a KFC and a MacD. Shares the same building as the Fuji chinese place which is listed on tripadvisor seperately.Hygiene seemed quite good and there was almost continuous restocking. Price does include free softdrinks and coffee. Alcoholic drinks you will have to fetch yourself and pay seperately.There's about 40 warm dishes on the buffet as well as cold meats and sea foods. You can get fish and meat grilled for you for which there can be quite a queue. Things I tasted where generally quite good except for the grilled lobsters and crayfish which were massively overcooked, tough and rubbery and the ensis clams which were really sandy. All in all not a bad concept, grab what you like, no waiting for orders, ideal if you're on a budget or with a group including children.

Loved it here. Very fresh sushi, delicious gyoza and edamame. My mother had the seabass main course which was fabulous as well. Real pity we didn't have time for the macha icecream!

Everytime I visit the Alexandrium I always visit ShabuShabu to go. I often order the tuna chriashi as itis fresh,big and tasty. I previously ordered the warm duck dish for 9 euro and it was delicious. I'd love to try the whole menu out!

The shabby look on the outside is made up by its trendy appearance inside. You order by selecting dishes on a mibile device, the waiting staff is friendly and quick cleaning up empty dishes. The menu isn't very extensive but the quality is good.Worth a revisit someday.

A new hotspot in Rotterdam, and hopefully to stay. Worthwhile visiting in this very nice and relaxed area of Rotterdam. Great ambience, very nice young staff but they know what they are doing and talking about. Food is delicious, fusion, asian, sharing dinner. Nice selection of wines. Majority of the tables is round, so great to enjoy you dinner with good friends and have great talks.Thank you for your review! We really appreciate your comment about the staff, food and decoration. Lekker Shusi eten. Bediening is hier top ze zijn snel en zien veel totdat het echt druk en vol zat. Maar daarvoor heb je de service knop op de iPad dan staan ze binnen No time naast je. Shusi is goed niet teveel rijst. Veel invloeden uit de Chinese keuken door de eigenaar. Wat zeker lekkere gerechten opleverde.
