The population is 424,633 (2015 est.) in an area of 713 km². It is located 40 km to the east of the city of São Paulo. It was founded in 1560 by the bandeirantes.

It's World Cup time in Brasil, and one of the popular local sports is "rip-off the tourist". We were hungry for sushi and looking for a Japanese rodrizio near our flat. Unfortunately we chose to eat dinner at Mieko's. Rodrizio-style eating is where they keep bringing you food as long as you are hungry. Not at Mieko's! The sparse sushi offerings were stopped after one pass through the waitress's delivery of soup, octopus, mushrooms, and finally a plate of sushi with about 10 items. We then asked for a tamaki. What came out from the kitchen was not a large cone, but a cone folded in half and then folded in half again! Still not believing this, and still hungry we asked for another plate of sushi. After waiting 15 minutes, it was obvious nothing more was to be served to us. We cashed out and I noticed that the prices for beer and soda did not match was what listed on the menu. Rather than argue, we just left.There seem to be regular local clients eating at Mieko's. I doubt the owners rip them off. But we will never be back.

Os ingredientes são de excelente qualidade e a execução dos pratos é bastante cuidadosa. Apesar do alto valor dos pratos, vale a pena.Para pessoas que prezam qualidade e quantidades moderadas.O ambiente é bastante aconchegante e com detalhes de decoração únicos.

Para quem ama comida japonesa tanto a tradicional como a contemporânea (com seus cream cheeses, frutas, maionese etc.) é o local certo, pois tem as duas vertentes e não se perde em sua essência (comida japonesa de qualidade e com preço justo). Foi com felicidade que encontramos harumakis tradicionais (recheados com repolho e carne), tempurá de brocolis crocante e sequinho e yakissoba na medida. Sushi e sashimi também, são excelentes. O atendimento é muito bom e prestativo, apesar do salão lotado e fila de espera nos horários de picos. Muitos deliverys tornam o ambiente frenético e, é interessante visualizar a atuação da cozinha através das grandes janelas. Vale a visita.

What to say about this restaurant? So far is one of the few restaurant in this town that offer authentic Japanese dishes. All of them well elaborated and prepared. Sushis are delicious and they have private place for eating in a Japanese style. I went there twice and I am not regretted at all. It worth eating and appreciating every single dish.

The tipical brasileiro food is very good, also the service, they are kind and they take care. It's very cheap but at the same time clean. Very good to eat something tipical and in an happy location.

In Brazil there are moderate price restaurants that do a buffet lunch where you pay by the weight of your plate. Terractoa is at the top end of these. Lots of choice, good quality, nice venue. Dont be put off by the word buffet, the food is good. Personally I like the sushi but allow some room to the end of the choices because there will be a BBQ/grill with good Brazilian meats..

Great Japanese restaurant, and by far the best restaurant I visited in Mogi.I highly recommend their 'all you want' menu. Waiters circulate in the restaurant with small dishes and you can try anything you want.Very fresh fish, but also sushi, meat, etc.Only a few people speak English though.
