Very nice location in a small Asian strip mall, located right next to a Korean BBQ place, both were busy which was a good sign.Lots of nice Japanese booths and a big sushi bar. Also had a traditional bar with several beers on tap, domestic and Japanese.We had a couple salmon skin hand rolls (yum) the crazy night roll if I remembered correctly, plus several pieces of nigiri. The quality of the fish wonderful. Presentation amazing. I would have taken pics but I forgot my phone in the truck. Will be back for sure next tie in town.

I was looking for a good Japanese/sushi restaurant in the Lynnwood/Mukilteo area and was given this recommendation by one of my Japanese acquaintances from work. The restaurant has only been open for 6 months and they are fantastic. I visited with my girlfriend's Japanese branch of the family last summer and this restaurant made me feel as if I was back in Japan. The sushi and sashimi were very fresh and flavorful and were served in an appealing presentation. One of the owners waited on us and she was so helpful and friendly. It was a really good experience and I'm so glad I went. I was there with three other co-workers who were visiting the area and we all agreed it was fantastic. They also make their own ramen and I was so disappointed that I didn't get a chance to try that while I was in town.

For those who have been around long enough to remember where Mervyn's was, this is in that location, just northwest of the Alderwood Mall, across the street, at the opposite end of the Regal Alderwood 7 Cinemas that's maintained its existence. This place is within the "H-Mart," which is an amazing Asian grocery store that's perhaps the most extensive in the northern side of Seattle. FYI, a reviewer of that store accurately called it amongst "the Holy Trinity of Asian grocery stores," putting it with Uwajimaya and Ranch 99.There is one obvious entrance, in front of H-Mart, for which there's an aisleway, a narrower version of what one sees at the nearby mall, with a smattering of small stores on the south side, H-Mart being on the north side. Head to the right, and you'll enter a small food court, with various Asian cuisines represented. Oshima will be on your left. The other entrance is opposite the single row of parking spaces that's to the east of the building. It can get a bit dark over there, that is until the lot's lights turn on.This is a "counter service" place. They have complimentary tea to the left, place your order at the counter. Read the menu carefully: California rolls - 8 of them - come with some of the entrees. For instance, I hankered for a salmon teriyaki bento box, which is rarely offered at teriyaki places, since my favorite provider of this abruptly went out of business or moved in 2013 (it wasn't on their menu, either, I had to ask them for it, which they faithfully did for years, a great customer relationship!). A difference is that one has choices to add on at Oshima's, one of which is California rolls, or one can have a different add-on, then pay $3.50 (as of when visited) for the 8 (!) California rolls. It was a better deal for me to take the California rolls. The person taking my order obviously understood limited English, thus you're on your own in figuring this out. In order to not feeling pressured to decide, consider sitting at a nearby location to read through the menu from afar before approaching the counter.The service was relatively quick, the food well prepared, tasty, and enough to make me just full. My previous place was $2 more, but I was fuller. The hunk of salmon was smaller here, but it wasn't the tail, either, as other places tend to give you, and that fact is a big plus.Summarizing, this was an adequate substitute for my prior regular place re: the quantity, taste, and price of the food, but also of the fullness factor. The only downside is that Oshima's is several miles away vs. only 1 mile away for its predecessor. However, a post-meal walk through the H-Mart, especially when it's not busy (which it wasn't on a mid-week evening) is a more interesting follow-up than is Ranch 99, which ironically was across the street from my previous favorite in this "genre" of eating!PS- They recently opened a second Oshima is Everett, WA (11108 Evergreen WaySte B, Everett).

Stop eating before it hurts...lol I normally don't go far the giant , high volume , buffet. But, this is an exception. I ate until it hurt. My Minute Steak was perfect. The Sushi was great. The Asian dishes were very good. The Coconut Prawns were the BEST EVER.Service was very good. This place was crazy busy on Father's Day. But, we got a table in about 15 minutes. I would go back here for sure. The desert bar looked amazing.

I discovered this place through a friend and hands down it's the best sushi this part of WA! The soup, tempura, teriyaki, sushi, all so delicious! The plating is spectacular and portions are huge! The inside isn't much much to look at, but don't judge a book by its cover. The wait staff isn't the best, but nice enough. I wish I lived closer, I'd go at least once a week! Great prices too!

Positive experience from arrival to finish. Checking in for reservation with a smile and kind service. Delicious menu items for adults and manages to find something for the kids (toddlers and older) Service was excellent. Family wants to go again :)
