Matsuyama may not have the nicest decor but they have some of the sushi best rolls I've ever had. The restaurant is rather small and the decor is very casual, but the service is consistently excellent and their rolls are great. It's one of those restaurants where after you dine there a couple of times the staff knows you and they greet you like old friends. They have a huge selection of very creative rolls and I've never tried one that I didn't like. My favorites are the Island Roll which has cashews and a yummy sauce and the Volcano roll which has a crunchy texture. Their prices are fairly reasonable as sushi prices go.

On July 6th we went to the new Haruka Japanese restaurant in Granite Bay, CA. The restaurant is decorated nicely in the expected Japanese modern style. There were very few other diners when we arrived at 6 o'clock. The first weirdness occurred when the drink orders arrived. I was served an over sized bottle of Kirin beer without a glass, and the bottle was just to big to drink from. Finally I asked one of the servers for a glass and he brought me one right away. The menu is typical Japanese - nothing different or special and the food was just ok, except for the portion size of the meat. We both ordered the bento boxes and the chicken and steak portions were ridiculously small - not even enough for a small child. The steak tasted very strange and I thought it may be the flavor of the teryaki sauce - wrong. The meat itself tasted awful. I don't think I'll be going back.

Stop by during lunch time. The sushi was OK but the Udon terrible no taste whatsoever. Service us OK.

The service was good, the food was great and the chef was entertaining. They have early bird specials until 5:30 which makes the price very affordable. The restaurant does not have a liquor license so there are not mixed drinks, but there is a good selection of domestic and Japanese needs to go along with several wine choices. The food is cooked at you table and the cooks are very entertaining. This is a good Lodi venue.

We lived in Tokyo and appreciate a good Japanese restaurant. The interior is comfortable, the service prompt and attentive, and food exceptional. The miso soup was very good, the tempura crisp and tasty, and the rice exceptional. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food.

Had a great time here with a large group of friends. We did sake bombs, ordered lots of rolls and beer. Service was quick, restaurant was large and spacious and seafood was fresh! Great for larger groups!
