While unpretentious, Sushi Laguna comes up with excellent sushi, sashimi and associated Japanese menu items. From the welcoming hot towel to the final cubed fruit, the service is efficient and quick. The menu is large and varied. Prices are high, but not exorbitant. Well worth a visit if Japanese is your thing.

It's a sushi restaurant..If you are particular about your fish and sushi, this is not the place for you....try San SHi Go or 242 in Laguna Beach....they serve the best sushi.

We had wanted to like this place. It was disappointing both in terms of food and especially the service.The only upside was that we were here for happy hour so the dishes were at a reduced price. After tasting the food, we decided not to stay for dinner and went somewhere else.The sushi rice was overcooked and too mushy. We were not sure whether the fish was not kept at the right temperature or that it sat too long in a hot kitchen before being brought out. Either way, it was not served at the correct temperature.Unfortunately this place is neither recommended nor will we be back.

Thoroughly enjoyed this sushi Restaraunt. Stumbled upon it during happy hour and couldn't beat the prices! Only $5 for several amazing rolls... Although half a roll, it was worth it! A must stop for excellent sushi!

We live around the corner and were regulars because of convenience. The menu is very basic sushi, nothing creative or different. We stopped going because the sushi didn't seem as fresh and our last order looked like it was previously frozen and water logged. We some issues with bad service and a few meals that weren't great. We just figured they were having off days. The last straw that we stopped going was I picked up sushi to take home and my husband and I each had a piece and it was awful...waterlogged. I called the management and told them what was going on. Instead of apologizing and trying to make things right, I was told I probably left it in the car! I took it back to show them and they wanted to credit me for the pieces I was returning minus the two pieces my husband and I ate! I guess I should mention, I picked up sushi to take it home all the time and they knew me from coming in. That was the last time I went there and never looked back. We go to Okura which has a great menu and the freshest sushi.

We lucked out and got a table right away at this small first-come, first-served sushi café, our second attempt to get seated at this popular spot. Hands down the best sushi we've experienced, wonderfully creative and artfully prepared. Service was outstanding.

In town for business and Starfish came very highly recommended. We were impressed... started with delicious hand crafted adult beverages - outstanding. Loved the lychee martini and blackberry mojito. Dinner, we just shared small plates but the mussels in green curry was a standout. Donât forget to ask for coconut rice with it. Ask for Trish service was excellent. ;). Definitely will come back next trip.
