We first took a meal here 8 years back-terrific. Also an outdoor[seasonal] dining area. Lately, the dishes have the same spices but many more vegetables, than meat/fish. Less appealing to some;more healthy for others

Koi Nu Asian

Koi Nu Asian has only been open one month as of the date (6/30/18) of this review. It is an attractive setting in the "Village" in Grosse Pointe. The menu is Asian throughout. The menu itself is still evolving but the current draft of the menu offers a range of appetizers (the calamari was delicious and a generous serving), soups, salads, entrees and deserts. There is also a separate sushi menu. Other than our appetizer, we ordered from the sushi menu and were delighted with the creativity of the sushi rolls as well as the generous portions - the rolls are quite large which is a very good thing. The sushi was plated beautifully for a great presentation. Every roll we tried was well executed. We would particularly recommend from the specialty rolls the Hot Winter roll and the Rainbow roll. From their classic rolls we chose the Shrimp Tempura roll and the Spicy California roll. The classic rolls range from $5-12 but most are $5 or $6 - very reasonably priced. The speciality rolls are priced from $10-15 with most in the $10-13 range. There are no reservations but even on a Friday evening we had no wait to be seated albeit our seats were at the sushi bar. Service was prompt and friendly and the wait time for our sushi was reasonable. There is no bar at this time but we were told they expect to have a liquor license in the near future. We will definitely return - nice to have this new addition to our neighborhood. They also provide takeout which was good to know.

Sushi was great but over priced. Service was terrible. Very disorganized and short staffed. Deciding factor on never coming back here, throughout my entire meal I watched one of the chiefs in the kitchen literally drip sweat off of his bald head presumably onto whatever dish was he was preparing below . Totally understand it was super hot out that day, so not the guys fault, but not to Management; Maybe have your staff wear a hat.....
