What a wonderful end to a perfect day. My nieces bridal shower that my wife workers in for so long. Followed by my BIL and I setting up for her bachelorette party followed by a wonder Duffy party with hors dâoeuvres and libations. We ended up pulling up to the Cannery. The boat valet was very helpful and the ambiance of sitting outside right in the center of the restaurant was magical. The 9 of us enjoyed a wonderful evening. Great wine and drinks. And the fool was spectacular. The trout, the scallops, the pasta and shrimpAnd even a vegan dish was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this establishment. We have been coming to NPB for decades and have never eaten here before. Our loss. Glad that other family members did. Whether you come for just dinner lunch or a special occasion it was magical.

This restaurant is tucked in the South Coast Plaza mall. Trendy ambiance with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our server explained the various dishes and made some helpful recommendations. Overall we enjoyed the appetizers, sushi, and rolls but were tepid about the desserts. âThumbs upâ tasty:Tempura, shiitake frites. Freshwater eel, Spanish mackerel, uno toro, hamachi, bluefin tuna blue cheese, crispy prawn roll, Hirame hand rollâThumbs downâ pass next time:Pumpkin flan - too denseChocolate and mango mochi - small/skimpy for the price, too soft

There are very few places where one has such extensive sashimi and sushi choices. Rarely do you see Red Snapper (Tai), Black Snapper (Kuro Dai), Ocean Trout, Kanpachi and Striped Bass in addition to the more normal choices--by the way, the Ocean Trout from Tasmania and the Kanpachi sushi were great. The cut rolls that we had (355 Liar Liar, Philly Roll & Kalifornia Roll) were all beautifully presented, with fresh ingredients. Yellowtail is one of our favorites, and we loved both the Yellowtail with Jalapenos and the Yellowtail Handrolls. I like the way they start you off with the Miso Soup. Our server was very pleasant, the food comes out in a reasonable amount of time and the pricing was very fair.

Looking for fantastic sushi in the Newport Beach or Irvine areas...this is your place. Very creative sushi selection matched with a spectacular atmosphere and an exceptionally knowledgeable service team. The prices are surprisingly reasonably given the quality of the food and atmosphere. Ask for Ivan if you want great recommendations and over the top service. Cheers.

The restaurant is reasonably small with tables and a sushi bar. It is operated as a family business. It offers amazing innovative sushi. The sushi itself is of course as can be expected adapted to the US market but the influence of the original Japanese style can be found in the perfect presentation. The sashimi dishes are especially good!For the purists and Edo sushi lovers the Nigiris are amazing. They offer rare and seasonal types of fish.Do get a reservation as it fills up pretty quickly!
