The dragon roll is a work of art. Literally. Incredible depth of flavors and textures. This is food worth going out for! The fire flower roll was another highlight, incredibly fresh with a wonderful heat to it. We've come here numerous times and never been disappointed.

Group of 5. Clean restaurant, pretty typicalJapanese steakhouse experience. Nothing too flashy. Salad was good, seemed a little heavy on dressing and watery (probably from the lettuce). The soup was different and quite honestly very salty. Noodles and rice were nice and pretty typical (but good ) yum yum sauce. We had chicken, filet, scallops and all were above average. Three different cook levels (from medium rare to medium well) on the filet and chef did them each right. Service was consistent. It did seem a little rushed as we only were eating for about 10 minutes (once main course was served) and the server was already bringing the bill and to go containers. Maybe just a little more time would make it feel less rushed. Overall it was above average and we will likely be back.

The atmosphere here is the same as most Asian restaurants. The biggest thing to say is that it is very clean. There was the normal spread for a Chinese Buffet with one Large problem. Only about 20% of the dishes had labels. What the heck am I looking at. Of the ones with labels some of them were hard to read. As for the food it was all below average in taste. It looked good but tasted ehh. The best 2 things I ate were mac n cheese and the rice. That's not right. The service was friendly and professional. Overall I give this meal a flat 2 stars. The value is ok. I left a buffet not full. While that may be healthy it's not how I've ever left a buffet.

We are sushi snobs and have tried sushi in nearly every state we've visited (well over 20) and we have LOVED having excellent sushi so close by! We live in Caledonia, and prior to Jaku opening, we didn't have a sushi restaurant nearby; we either had to settle for grocery store sushi or wait until we had a date night to have decent sushi. Well, not any more! We have always had excellent food and service at Jaku and, while we normally order carryout, we have dined in on a few occasions and the atmosphere is great. We love the cozy setting and the decor and we've always had prompt and reliable service. We especially enjoy their fried mushroom appetizer and their Jaku house rolls. If you're looking for a great sushi, Jaku is definitely a great place to go!
