The food was good but the service was lacking. Several issues...if a customer is interested in switching one item for another of the same price, why not? This is the first Japanese restaurant I have EVER been to that would not substitute one sashimi which I donât like for another of the same price. We are talking two small pieces of sashimi on a meal of seven pieces that cost $18. No problem, you lost money. I selected something almost $10 less. You could have said it would cost a couple of extra dollars and I probably would have said ok. However. Your menu doesnât say NO SUBSTITUTIONS. Also, the waiter didnât even know for sure and had to double check. The fried rice came out before our appetizer. We had to remind the waiter of things we had asked for initially. We each ordered our own sushi roll but had them delivered on the same plate. Then when we asked for small plates. Sorry, we didnât know that would be such an inconvenience. I guess they were ready to leave, even though they werenât closed. The waiter was in a hurry to take care of the check and was more concerned with sweeping the floor than the customers. Be prepared to have food that has a great flavor and service that needs quite a bit of improvement.

YUMZ! Asian Cuisine is a true no holds barred Sushi Restaurant in the strip mall area on Krsipy Kreme Drive. YUMZ! Is open 7 days a week and the large unique menu can be tasted by Dining In ⢠Carry Out ⢠Online Order ⢠Delivery. They also will cater your event. Dining in is a great experience. As you walk in there are two large tables to your right for families or large groups. To your left is seating at the bar, a fun place to sit, that overlooks the open kitchen. Watching the three chefâs work is amazing as they create sushi rolls and cook other Asian dishes. The dining area is a long narrow room with tables and chairs with seating for two on one side and a couple of 4 tops on the other. There is a back room that will accommodate a large party or another 6 tables of diners.OK letâs talk about the food. The selections of food on the menu is almost overwhelming. I donât know about you but I never know what to order at a Sushi Place. Here are a few of our favorites after 5 or 6 visits. Appetizers we like are Age Gyoza, 6 pieces of Japanese pan fried pork dumpling. Tender, crispy and sumptuous! 4 pieces of Crab Rangoon. The best in town! Perfectly crispy wonton with a delicious crabby, creamy interior. The Spring Rolls are very special as well. 6 deep fried vegetable roll with a great finish and sauce. The Tempura Appetizer is also worth a try 2 tempura shrimp and assorted veggies battered and deep fried served with an amazing tempura sauce. They offer the traditional Asian soups. The Hot & Sour is very special. 6 salads are on the menu. The seafood salad is sprinkled with raw fish. There are 10 fish offerings of Sahimi, a thinly sliced raw fish that is served without rice . You get two pieces per order. There are 20 selections of Nigiri, a type of sushi made of thin slices of raw fish over pressed vinegared rice. One piece per order. Weâve tried the yellowtail and Mackerel and both were fresh and delicious. YUMZ! offers 23 varieties of Maki, a type of sushi roll that includes toasted seaweed nori rolled around vinegar-flavored rice and various fillings, including raw seafood and vegetables. You get 5-6 pieces per roll. This is a good place to start if you want to share with a large group. We loved the Scorpion Roll, crabmeat and mayo roll surrounded with tempura crunch. The Philadelphia Roll which is smoked salmon, avocado and crème cheese was superb. The Peanut Roll is unique and delicious. Itâs a deep fried California roll topped with peanut and peanut sauce. There are 30 choices of YUMZ! Signature Maki Roll. Again 5-6 pieces per roll. Our favorites to try are Mango Roll, salmon and avocado roll topped with mango and mango sauce. If you like your rolls spicy try the Mt. Fuji Roll with smoked salmon, avocado and cream cheese. Itâs a deep fried crunchy roll topped with jalapeno, spicy mayo, chili sauce and eel sauce. Thereâs also the Coco Mango a tempura shrimp and mango roll surrounded with shredded coconut and coconut sauce. Very different flavors that works well together. Weâve yet to find any of the rolls that werenât well prepared, unique and full of flavor!Ok ⦠so your date or friends donât like sushi, have no fear YUMZ! offers a wide variety of Japanese Entrees served with steamed rice, miso or onion soup and a house salad.
