Top 6 International food in Maribor, Styria Region, Slovenia
Small restaurant with ice cream freezer out the front of it and I think some outside seating to the side. The only menus I could find were in Slovenian only, but allergens were relatively clearly marked, with some gluten-free options. The staff are nice but don't really speak English. I visited on two occasions, the first time I had the green curry rice (gf) and a mango lassi, both were tasty. The second time I tried their ice cream (the dark chocolate is especially nice) and a tofu, rice and vegetable dish (gf) which was on their specials menu; the tofu was amazing. The restaurant is in need of refurbishment, but can probably get away with being quite basic as it's one of the few vegan-friendly places in the area.
Where to eat Diner food in Maribor: The Best Restaurants and Bars
This carefully furnished bistro offers seasonal open toasts for breakfast and burgers & healthy bowls for lunch and dinner. We like to keep it local, so our coffee is roasted in Maribor. We offer a range of local wines and selected labels of gin and other
We ordered one salmon poke bowl and one pink roast beef bowl. Both were 9,5 euro which was quite expensive in our eyes but we thought it would be worth it. Boy were we wrong. What we got was a big disappointment. We figured the bowls would be different but what we got was basically the same bowl with just different meat/fish. The amount of roast beef was appalling...a few thin slices of unseasoned roast beef. The both bowls also contained edamame, rice, some sort of cream/sauce and the worst thing of all. RAW slices of carrot and zucchini. And not just that...they weren't thinly sliced or shredded...no, they were wide, long slices of raw(!) vegetables. And the zucchini...they even surved us slices with just the peel. No meat...just the peel. If I'm paying 9,5 I expect a cooked meal...not raw vegetables and vegetable peels. Oh...and the whole thing was so bland...no seasoning. No salt. And they don't even bring you the salt. I'm never going there again...and especially not for that price.Dear guest, thank you for your visit and thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry that you were disappointed by the bowl. Vegetable noodles are seasoned with homemade sauce that softens them and gives them an enhanced flavour but are supposed to remain al dente. We like to preserve all the vitamins . As for the portion â we serve 200g of meat/fish which is the recommended portion. We are also sorry that you didnât ask for extra salt. Upon request, there is s great range of seasonings available.I would like to transmit our illusion to welcome you again in order to change your first impressions.Warm regard,Ana FlisarOwner
