I visited here with a friend the other week and was very pleasantly surprised. We'd seen it in the Michelin guide - but nothing it's NOT a Michelin star restaurant (not sure why not though). Friendly, attentive staff, great food with great veggie/vegan options! European serving staff with great Indian chefs - what more do you want!?

Eatchu is an award winning street food takeaway based on Exchange Avenue in Bristol's historic St Nicks Market. They specialise in Japanese Gyoza, delicious filled dumplings served with sushi rice, soba noodles and other side dishes. #happylittledumplings
I stumbled across this place by accident and am super pleased it happened. Tucked away in a back street, you order your dumplings from a simple menu and are served through a window outside. Amazing flavour and lovely staff. Overall it's a teeny bit pricey, but as a treat on pay-day it's well worth it!

Having seen all the great reviews, I can say it lives up to the expectations. A friendly welcome greeted us, as did a fantastic selection of cocktails (which were just as tasty and interesting as they sounded). A large selection of both Indian street food and more âstandardâ Indian dishes, with lots of options for vegetarians and those with gluten intolerance. The food itself packed a punch, with the perfect combination of spices and cooked to perfection. Such variety as well made for a really interesting tapas style meal, great for couples to big parties. Whilst we did need a number of small dishes to fill ourselves which brought the price to a little higher than weâd expected from the good value individual dishes, we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and would highly recommend.

Enjoy the warmth of Sri Lankan hospitality & cuisine, our dishes are rich in Ceylon spices with recipes going back generations from our very own parents' kitchens. Try a traditional Hopper, Kotthu and Devilled dishes, mix them with our tapas style menu. S
As a Sri Lankan I was looking forward to this meal. The food is the biggest problem- in parts not authentically Sri Lankan. They had run out of veg rolls since the day before. My kids were not impressed with the devilled chicken wings as they tasted like chinese sweet and sour and looked exactly that , with a thick lurid red colour sauce. The gova mallun (cabbage) didn't taste good. The clay pot tuna fish was overcooked. I glanced over into the kitchen later on and could see the chef taking a plastic bowl of heated curry out of I presume a microwave and emptying it into the clay pot !!The chicken curry on the bone was a lot of gravy and bones and hardly any chicken. The plain red rice wasn't even cooked fully. The treacle hopper was ok but the ice-cream had obviously been defrosted and frozen again and was unpleasantly gritty. The portions were small and quite expensive for reheated food which didn't taste good. I'm presume the owners of this chain have sacrificed the taste/freshness of the food in order to make money and that's a real shame. I think it will be hard for these restaurants to stand the test of time unless they rethink the model. I don't expect a response from the owners - I can see from previous reviews that when their food is criticised that there is generally no response but they are very willing to apologise for late drinks/wrong orders etc. I think you need to get the food right first. My advice, if you want authentic Sri Lankan food - try anywhere in London.
