Typically when we take clients here we of course pick up the tab. Our clients were so impressed that they insisted on picking up the tab. There were 5 of us. Everyone of course had the awesome steaks. The greek salad was excellent as were the creamed spinache and potato puree.

Four of ate there tonight. We were really looking forward to some great meat. We live in Mazatlan and while the seafood is outstanding it is not a good place to have a steak. We had read elsewhere on line about Sancho and decided to make it our big night out while in Zacatecas. The atmosphere is great. It is very modern, especially by Mexican standards and for such an old city as Zacatecas. We arrived at 10:15 on a Saturday night and there were three other tables just finishing up. The restaurant is open until midnight, yet from the moment we arrived, we felt rushed like we holding them up from shutting down. None of us were ever offered a second drink or desserts. The waiter hovered and kept trying to clear our plates before we were finished eating. The meat was okay. Three of had sirloin and one of us had prawns. Mine had a huge edge of fat that really should or and could have been trimmed in the kitchen. My wife's was better. Our son's had little flavor yet was more tender and better trimmed. Very inconsistent. The strangest part of the night was the order of service. We got a little bread when we sat down which was nice .When we ordered, none of us ordered starters. The steaks all came with a choice of salad, baked potato or fries. We had two baked and one salad. they came out before the entree - very strange. Our niece with prawns just watched us eat . On a positive note, the baked potatoes come out and the waiter offers a dozen different fixings and fills your potato as you direct him. I had butter, chorizo and rajas - very good. Other options included mushrooms, some different cheeses, onions and ???Would I go back? Maybe, I want to try the ribs which looked intriguing, but I just wasn't up for it tonight. I won't be back here for a while, but so who knows. The real question for you is can you find another steak/rib place in the area? That, I cannot help you with (yet).

We were on our way to a Zacatecan restaurant, but upon arrival, found out that it was closed. Already tired and late, so switched to Garufa. Going to a steakhouse would not be my first choice in Mexico (or anywhere, I cook my own). I would always take the opportunity to try the local cuisine. But, sometimes you might want to take a break or, as explained above, circumstances force you.Let me tell you, whatever the reason, this was a nice experience. The meat is good, the sauces are good, the condiments are good. The service is very good and the atmosphere is nice.

La Lorenza may not be the fanciest place but seems they relay more on the quality and service of the food they offer. With a small but good selection of homemade style "empanadas" (stuffed pastries) as appetizers, you will not choose wrong with the Capresse salad followed with a steak, all home made style, so don't expect too elaborated dishes. Good wine and beer selection.Prices ok, service very friendly.
