Reviews on Steakhouse food in Vorarlberg, Austrian Alps, Austria. Bristling with beautiful lakes, splashing rivers, rugged peaks and looming castles, Vorarlberg is tucked between Switzerland and Germany. This spirited state is dotted with Bauhaus-inspired architecture, eco-friendly dwellings and tiny towns, bristling with spires. Capital Bregenz is the main draw in this alpine locale. Cobblestone streets and a lovely lakeside setting add to its charms. Renowned for its cheese and dairies, Vorarlberg is also a popular spot for skiing and other winter sports.

We went here for birthday celebrations recently and it was nice. The atmosphere is nice and the service is good. I ordered a steak and asked for it to be well done and sadly it wasnât well done at all. I had to ask the waiter to make sure it was well done and then when it came back, it was slightly burnt and our friends were already half way through their meals. We also ordered the garlic bread and only 2 slices were garlic and the other 2 were covered in some kind of tomato purée. It was nice though and pleasant to eat there - a little pricey but nice for a treat every now and then.

We went here as a group of friends as some of them had been here before and recommended the meat. The décor of the restaurant is average; they have built a large enclosed patio onto the front which doesnât really match the interiors. Also the restaurant can get pretty loud when the place is full, so itâs a bit hard to hear each other if you are a larger group. I heard itâs difficult to get a table on the weekends without a reservation, so keep this in mind. There are a lot of parking spaces behind and around the building.Service was pretty quick and friendly; one waiter however didnât speak any German (or English) at all and it was kind of difficult to figure out what he was trying to tell us! Some of the dishes include salads whereas some cuts of meat are separate, so any sides must be ordered on their own. I had steamed spinach and a rib eye; its flavor was very good but the meat somewhat tough. I wasnât expecting this from imported meat and was thus a bit disappointed. One of our group felt his meat was quite underdone despite having ordered it medium, but the others were very satisfied with their cuts. There is a good selection of wine at somewhat higher prices but nothing to break the bank. The food costs more than you would expect for the area, but it isn't terribly expensive. We did appreciate the little chilled bottles of Schnaps that we got after we paid our bill.
