Varkiza (Greek: Βάρκιζα), also Alianthos (Αλίανθος), is a suburb of greater Athens forming part of the municipality of Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni in southern Attica of the Megalo Daktylo (Large Finger). It lies approximately 2 km south of Vari, 22 km S of Athens, SW of the Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport and the Attiki Odos (numbers 6 and 62), NW of Cape Sounio, and south of the Hymettus Ring. To start with the positive : The surrounding is very nice , right by the sea and the service is very good. The problem is with the food that is mediocre . Everything is tasteless and even simply bad , disguised with strange sauces and too many spices. Even the Greek sale is average and strange tasting . I would say change the chef , buy better ingredients and keep everything else the same and you would have a decent restaurant ......

A fantastic beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon lunch at this quaint, traditional Greek taverna with lamb done on the spit and their specialty is roast goat with oven potatoes baked in a traditional hot coals stone oven! Unbelievably delicious!!!! The Greek salad was plentiful with a huge slice of feta cheese, a small plate of creamed cheese with hot peppers, the red wine was a soothing taste to the palate.
