Thursdays are special roast beef night with special price. Best roast beef, very tender with all dressed baked potato. If you have a birthday, the Mexican singer comes to your table and sing a song for you, with a free shot of tequila and a free piece of birthday cake! A lot of fun and great service from the waiters.

Steak Etc

OMG where to begin on how horrible this dinner was! I live in Saint Eustache and I thought I would treat my niece to a beautiful steak dinner for New Year's Eve. I chose this restaurant because it was close to my home and you could also bring your own wine which I liked.I had heard the restaurant was expensive but I felt if the food was good that was all that mattered. I had originally booked for three but at the last minute my cousin was operated and was not able to join us. When we first arrived and I advised that we would be two instead of three I was greeted with a look that could have killed. We were finally seated and the waitress that finally came after 20 minutes looked so discheveled for New Year's....she had on a sort of tool-belt like belt holding pads and pens which really gave the impression you were in a hot dog stand and not a fancy restaurant. The menu is very limited and soooooo confusing. They have what they called a "2-for-1" option which gave you crab cakes, steak, lobster tail and mushrooms....we chose that. After waiting for almost 30 minutes the waitress finally brought the crab cakes. They were ok but tasted like frozen ones you can get at the grocery store. Finally the waitress brought the main meal!!! She placed one narrow rectangular plate on the side of the table for us both. The plate had a few carrots, 2 very small lobster tails and ONE STEAK!!! When I asked what this was she said that was the "2-for-1"!! So basically we had to cut that one steak in two and put it on our plate....we had asked for medium rare and this thing was totally raw inside. I own a travel business and have traveled all over the world and have never ever seen any restaurant serve one steak on a commune plate for clients to cut up themselves....this was ridiculous! I told her I totally did not want this and reminded her that we wanted each our steak done how each of us wanted it. At no time did any manager or owner come over to see what our complaint was and we were right near the counter where the owner was with his arms crossed. The waitress took off in a huff and came back 20 minutes later with a plate for each of us with a steak and lobster tail on each plate. Believe me I am not a fussy eater and can eat anything but at these prices I wanted the food to be edible! The lobster tail was the same one she brought out earlier but she probably put it under a heat lamp and it was like rubber. If I had taken the sole off my boot and fried it up it would probably have been more tender than the road kill that was served up as steak.....it was so tough you had to cut back and forth at least 8 times with your knife before you could get a piece off....unbelievable!!! The pan fried mushrooms which I ordered were boiled so no nice butter-fried taste. This was the worst meal I had ever had in my life, I was in tears at the table. I had so wanted the meal to be special for New Years for my niece and it was a total fiasco.Needless-to-say we left the entire meal and my niece who is a chef herself said I should speak to the owner. I told her that I was positive it would do no good but to please her I called over the owner. He stood at the table with his arms crossed over his chest not even wanting to listen to our complaint. What restaurant owner would not want to hear a complaint? My niece and I speak English to each other but I am French and the owner was French also and I spoke French to him as well but I got the feeling he didn't like the English. He was adamant "my restaurant only has good food etc" and was so arrogant and defensive, totally making it look like we were lying. Why in heaven's name would I complain on New Year's Eve if it was all good?? Makes no sense. I saw the talk was going nowhere so I went to the counter to pay the bill which was $135. for two with no wine....such a ridiculous amount to charge, such a waste of money.NEVER EVER GO TO THIS RIP-OFF RESTAURANT.....HIGH PRICES FOR BAD FOOD!!!!Dear madam, we remember you very very well. In fact, it's extremely rare that we witness other clients sitting at tables nearby making remarks to the person who is complaining. That night, at least 3 tables told us that you ruined their evening and one told you directly that you were very rude. He said that he was a regular very satisfied customer and that his food was, as always very good. Your answer to him was that "he had no taste and low standards"!!! We will not waste our time trying to make sense of your comment. Happy new year to you too :)

Comme les charmants Bistros français, le Steak Frites St-Paul préserve la tradition en offrant la meilleure qualité de bœuf, la sauce à steak et les frites

This restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of the soap factory in St-Eustache. The food was very good, the choices varied and the service courteous and prompt. Our only recommendation would be to have a couple of menus in English. Our friends do not read French at all and it would have been easier for them. Nonetheless, a very good family restaurant.
