Welcome to the award winning Great Outdoors Restaurant! We hope you enjoy your dining experience here. Our menu is carefully planned and lovingly prepared. Our Executive Chef is on the premises at all times carefully overseeing every detail of food prepar
Nothing fancy here, but my Captains Platter of fried shrimp, scallops, and white fish was excellent. (Conch fritters were soggy and I left those on my plate). Even the French fries, slaw, and onion rings were notable. We also tried the Ginnie, a BBQ bacon cheeseburger. A well executed if underseasoned effort. Decor seems intentionally dated with plenty of space inside and out. Although there isnât much to select from in the area, this is worth the #1 TA rating. Expect $15-25 a plate for entrees and $10-16 for a sandwich.

We had a great meal here. Everything from service to food and drinks was all done very well. The lobster bisque is fantastic! The steaks were perfect. The lobster mashed potatoes are not to be missed. The dessert was spot on also.Lovely atmosphere and impeccable service added to the excellent experience. You need to make reservations. More of a formal place.
Where to eat Italian food in Newberry: The Best Restaurants and Bars
I wasn't expecting too much since most of these buffet style restaurants usually serve institutional grade food. Here I was pleasantly surprised that most of the food had a southern homemade taste to it. The manager was also very active on the floor and even assisted the servers several times while we were there. Very nice and clean.

I would rather have a hamburger than a steak, in most instances, but when I want a steak we go to Texas Roadhouse. This was our first visit to the one in Gainesville as we usually eat in Clermont.Despite a full parking lot, we were seated immediately. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and were flavorful. Salads were cold and fresh and the baked potatoes loaded with butter and sour cream. This is pretty identical to the one in Clermont. What made this slightly better was the service. Our waiter was not only efficient but checked on us every few minutes. He was outstanding and was only the 5th person I ever left a 20% tip to instead of the standard 15%.
