Welcome to New Jersey's Legendary Steak HouseRod's Steak & Seafood Grille, an area landmark and winner of New Jersey Monthly's 'Best Steakhouse' award, offers breakfast, lunch and dinner daily as well as the finest Sunday Brunch in New Jersey. The restaur
We are new to the area and booked this restaurant for Fatherâs Day lunch. It turned out to be brunch only, no ordering off a menu, just buffet. It could have been a good buffet, maybe it was before our 12:45 reservation. There were long lines and it was an unorganized mess. Empty platters, no rolls/bread (never replenished), all seafood picked over and not rotated out with fresh items put in, etc... We tried the carving station for beef but found the server unable to communicate in English to give us our preferred type of cut. Other patrons tried to ask questions about sauces or type of meats at station and they were also unable to communicate with the carving station server. At the dessert stage, a long line snaked around but it was mostly empty cake platters (again, not replenished) and sliced fruit. This restaurant has good reviews as a steakhouse, so we will try again. However, the brunch buffet is a disappointment, poorly managed and best given a pass,Thank you for your feedback, I'm sorry to learn that the service was lacking on your recent visit, there is no valid excuse. I can be reached at the restaurant 973-539-6666, or via email at [email protected] should you like to discuss these issues further. I do hope you give us another chance to show you the hospitality that we are known for. Thanks again. Jerry Keller

In the late 19th century, the Prospect Tavern housed a coal company, part of the bustling railroad industry located just yards away. Today the 1880's Tudor building comfortably seats 50 patrons in the dining room, while the 60-foot bar and outdoor patio m
A friend of mine suggested we stop here after I met him at the Madison train station. I am glad he talked me in to it. I immediately saw it was a local bar but also noticed a detached dining room. We met a third person there and had drinks and bar food. The bar food was excellent. Better than most I have had. Also, there many choices. Two of us stayed for dinner and the food was also very good and there were a good number of choices. The service was excellent and hot items came out hot.I will not hesitate to come back whenever I a in the area.

Came here for a business dinner, and was happily surprised. The restaurant has that dark, old-school, elegant atmosphere. Started at the bar with the Riesling, which was delicious. I love that they put a large popover on everyone's plate to start. Light and airy. There were 7 of us for dinner, so we shared a bunch of appetizers and side dishes, as well as each ordering a main course. The Seared Sesame Crusted Tuna was excellent. The Potatoes Au Gratin, Arugula Salad and Broccoli w/Garlic and Oil were really good too. The Chicken Breast was good, not great. There were a lot of other things I wanted to try on the menu though---so I will definitely be back. Everyone else cleared their plates, and whoever didn't got their food to go--so everyone else felt the same!

Our philosophy is simple; to provide great food, exceptional value and friendly service to each and every customer we serve.
I do not believe I have ever enjoyed the selection and quality of offerings you find at Charlie Brown's salad bar anywhere else. If only their entrees lived up to the salad bar, I would consider a better rating. The serve quality steaks, and great mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries. But nothing special. Yes, it is a chain with multiple sites. That being said, I will go back, and back, and back. Their salad bar is the best. Especially for families.

I have been here twice and it is really worth the visit. The good; ambiance, waiters, service, front of house, the steak (Oh hell yeah, the steak!) and location. The only thing that pulls it slightly down was the sides as the mashed potato was a bit bland, and the asparagus looked a bit "sad". Oh - and the booths near the bar is is a bit tight for two guys of 6'2+ feet.
