So we were looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate our sonâs graduation. Someone recommended Cagleâs so we went. Itâs a bit out of town but worth the drive! Great, fun atmosphere and service. The steaks were perfectly prepared. Best margarita Iâve had in awhile :-)

We dine occasionally at Outback when traveling when they are near to our hotel. The food is usually consistent and they have things we want to eat and the portions are not overwhelming which is pointless when you are traveling by car. The staff here is very good, super friendly without being over bearing. We ordered 2 glasses of red wine, the selections are pretty basic but were fine for the type of meal we wanted. My each had a house salad, my wife had the Victoria fillet with a baked potato and I had the Pork T bone with a sweet potato and grilled asparagus. Everything was fine and my wife had enough steak and bread to make a sandwich for our road trip the next day. Overall a good meal and we have the Rewards Dining Card that is good here as well as several other popular chains so we earned points towards a free entree down the line. The restaurant is easy to get to, right off the highway on the SW side of Lubbock.

It was my grandsons birthday and he chose Saltgrass. Got there got our drinks and some queso. About 10 minutes later the order was taken, another 10 minutes salads came, dinner came about 15 minutes later. We all ordered different items, I ordered the 12 oz prime rib med rare. It came out about the top 1/3 of it was solid fat, decided to trim that off and try a piece, after sawing on it for sometime finally got a piece cut. It was so tough I was finished, no more. It looked more like a thin steak that had been cooked on a flattop. This has to be by far the worst prime rib I have ever had in my 60 years of dining out. 20 minutes later when everyone was almost finished, the waitress showed back up. She picked up the plates a bit later, I mentioned that the prime wasn't edible. Reply, I can get another. No. Good try, everyone has finished and I do not think they want to sit another 30 minutes waiting on me.Ticket came, I just took yours off. 32 minutes later after trying to stop everyone to check out with no luck she finally came back for the check. I definitely do not plan to ever stop by here again. To top it all off, I just discovered that she never returned my landrys card. All in all, a perfectly ruined birthday time was had tonight.

Never visited a Roadhouse that wasn't crowded. Great variety and selection. Wife loves their salad. It's something she will actually take home and eat and she never eats leftovers..........especially salads. Steaks are well prepared and their sides are very good........I especially like their green beans. Most restaurants ask which vegetable you want and its. French fries, or potatoes or some sort of starch. Or very bland broccoli. Their vegies are well prepared and not over cooked. I would highly recommend this place especially if you are traveling.

We found this gem on open table and were very glad we did. We never expected a steakhouse this good in Lubbock . We eat at Bobs, Del Friscoâs , Pappas, etc all the time and this ranks right along with the finest. Reasonably price for outstanding quality and superior service . We actually went back again the next night and will go again when we are back in Lubbock

I came in solo from a long day of travel. I was quickly greeted and seated, in a table of my choice. Looks like an old roadhouse from outside, but a cool mecca of comfort on the inside with rustic tables and neon signs.....Menu is a good mix of Tex Mex and steaks....with something for everyone. Good wine list, at good prices. I ordered a small rib steak, salad, and creamed corn. Steak came out perfectly cooked, but had a fair amount of gristle. Creamed corn was delish, as it had green chillis, and lots of cream....Yum.....Great place with good prices.
