Close to the beaches and motorway, this is a fabulous stop.Their specialty is +30 days matured meat, which is delicious and well served. We started sharing a lovely Berengenas rellenas with a bottle of the local cider and had the most wonderful traditionally prepared ox tail with massed potatoes with fennel and mint, accompanied with a good red Duero. For dessert their home made fresh cheese cake is a must. All together we paid â¬75 and it's a steal. Don't miss it!

Tried to get a table for a Saturday but restaurant was fully booked but got a table easily enough on the following Monday. Got very good quality food, 2 big starters of scorpion fish pate and a mixed salad, 2 main courses of perfectly cooked steak and monkfish. With 2 coffees and a bottle of wine the bill came to 65 Euro. The restaurant is newly renovated and is spotless. They have tables outside on a height overlooking part of the town and water area. The menu was in Spanish and English. The manager had limited English but he was very helpful. I recommend this restaurant.

Great food for a village restaurant. Incredibly efficient service, very reasonable prices. I think the menu is also in English, can't remember. But the thing here is the fantastic parilla, and excellent fresh seafood and steaks. I hope you won't be disappointed, it is a favourite of mine, also check out Manolo's taste is music - he has a great collection of South American and traditional Asturian music.

This a nice restaurant to visit if driving on the north coast of Spain. The barbecued meat is excellent and at lunch time the restaurant was oozing with life. It is a typical local restaurant and wonderful if you are hungry for barbecued meat. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a big parking in front and free wifi!

We went for supper. My body was craving for something Salty,so this is my selection. If you like anchovies you must try the anchovies salad. The "croquetas de jamón" ( ham and white sauce crunchy balls) awesome as always. The selection of Asturian cheese, was almost too big for two, it includes yummy home made apple jam.

Tucked away in a back street of Nueva, once voted Asturias' prettiest village, this cider restaurant excels for the quality of its beef, but that's not surprising because the restaurant's owner also breeds the oxen which produces it. You enter the rustically decorated but cosy dining room through a giant cider barrel and then they sit you down in another to serve you. If you choose one of the steaks from the menu, the chef will bring it to your table for your approval before it gets thrown on an enormous griddle and singed, then brought to you on a very hot terracotta platter, so that you continue grilling it to the âcuissonâ you prefer (in fact: carne a la brasa). However, beef is not all that this restaurant has to offer: they do an excellent Fabada as well. The obvious liquid accompaniment is cider, which has to be aerated with a special dispenser brought to your table, for there is little room here for the Asturian âescanciadorâ to do his typical cider-pouring act. They nevertheless have a good wines. The service is caring and attentive with waiters constantly vigilant to meet every need, and special attention was paid to the presence of Diego, our two-month old grandson, still a bit young to enjoy the beef, but the little bucket of hot water to warm his baby-bottle was brought promptly and without fuss.As a family we have dined altogether here about six times over the past three years, and never has anything disappointed. We strongly recommend Sidreria Muros.

Huge portions of quality country fare at more than fair prices. We paid 40 euros for a family of four and could barely walk afterwards. Friendly and efficient service and great atmosphere in an old cider brewery. Highly recommended.

Follow the old Pancar road out of Llanes through Parres and you'll soon find yourself climbing into the Sierra del Cuera mountains that provide the backdrop to this particularly beautiful part of Asturias. Keep going up for about five miles through switchback after switchback and eventually you'll reach the small hamlet of El Mazucu, surely too far off the beaten track to host a restaurant worth visiting? Wrong.El Rixon is so popular with locals that you'll often have to wait for a table at busy times. Also remember to take cash - no electronic payment accepted. The speciality of El Rixon is its Parilla (barbecue) which is ably handled by the village mayor. You'll see ribs, gargantuan steaks and local goat all sizzling away as you make your way to the table. Being in the mountains they also make and smoke their own chorizo sausage and have an excellent cheeseboard of local cheeses. Desserts are homemade too and not bad by spanish standards. But it's the barbecued meat that you really came for. Not one for vegetarians.
