One of the best culinary experiences Iâve had in Japan. Coming to Kobe, naturally I wanted to have the most authentic Kobe beef, and this restaurantâs quality was beyond my expectations. I got the A5 Kobe beef tenderloin, and the marbling on it was nothing less than beautiful. The whole dinner set was just the right amount of food, with the beef playing the main character but not taking all the spotlight. Various kinds of vegetables, the salad, appetisers and dessert were also delicious and memorable. Highly recommended if youâre in Kobe and looking for the best.

What an amazing experience!! Small place, only ten seats, we sat by the counter and interacted with the chef. The food was THE BEST beef weâve ever had and even my vegetarian daughter loved it! The atmosphere was very intimate and the chef came out to take some photos with us. When in Kobe, DO NOT MISS this restaurant!! Great value for money and an experience youâll never forget!

Went to Kobe for a one day trip and tried this yankiniku restaurant based on the good reviews here. The service is really good. Staff are friendly. A brilliant spot for a treat and some excellent steak. Our 'personal' chef was great and talked us through what he was doing and some of the more unusual (to us!) vegetables. The restaurant accommodated my gluten allergy with no issues - although I had to miss out a few bits and pieces it was still a fantastic meal. We walked in but would recommend booking in advance if possible.

The steak was absolutely delicious and I cannot fault the attentive service but it is one of the more expensive places to have Kobe beef and Iâm not sure itâs worth the cost. This location has no atmosphere. It is billed as the more casual restaurant suited for families. Your food is brought to you at the table so you miss out on the drama of it being cooked in front of you. Nonetheless, glad we went and tried it. And again the staff were wonderful.

Had a wonderful lunch with my husband and family at steak Aoyama in Kobe. We travelled to Kobe from Osaka for the day. Make sure you make a booking online well in advance via Facebook messenger as they are usually booked out. The family who owned the restaurant turned away so many people while we were there. They are very popular so reservations only. Make sure that you come in early as they can only hold your reservations for a few minutes.Each seating can accomodate only around 7-8 people. They have 4 seatings per day, 2 for lunch and 2 for dinner. The wonderful chef and service staff all come from the same family. They are all very lovely and very welcoming. The chef was both entertaining and super funny. The Kobe beef was to die for, so tender and melts in your mouth. The older chef cameover after our lunch and gave us a postcard with all the photos heâs taken around japan along with a map. Photography is his hobby he says. Itâs a must do experience in Kobe! We felt very special and honoured to have this great experience. Itâs like being welcomed into their home.

Excellent steak in Kobe! First time visiting Kobe and thought it was a must to try out the famous Kobe steak. We chose one local Rump Steak and the Kobe Beef Finest Sirloin Steak. We went for the lunch set too, so it came with salad and a very delicious pumpkin soup and rice, so likely cheaper than dinner, also came with coffee and tea to finish off. Although not cheap but worth the experience. The chef cooked it right in front of you. Service was great too, they spoke English very well and provided recommendations. Would definitely come again and recommend to anyone paying a visit to Kobe!

We thought the seating was nice and the hamburger and salad bar good... but the rest was lackluster or too salty (potatoes). It could have been fine to three or three and a half stars, but, unfortunately, the young service staff were immature and not inclined to actually work, or serve customers... they were clumsy, mechanical, awkward, and reactive. Nothing proactive. Tables were left uncleared while they simply chatted and smiled in the corner the whole time. If a customer wanted a table, they were seated at the less popular tables that were free... wow. At every opportunity, they just stood there either doing nothing or chatting instead of actually working and serving. And they made two mistakes that definitely merit no higher than a 2 rating... they explicitly told us to go to the salad bar to serve ourselves... then, as we started eating those salads, they came to our table to say sorry the salads are not actually included and that they made a mistake... the young staffer actually started to reach for our still full salad dishes on the table before she apparently saw our shocked expressions and said it would be OK to eat âjust that one, but donât go back for moreâ. Wow. Just ...wow. Imagine it. Then we had the paper trash from the other empty tables come our way due to wind while they just looked on. We did not complain at all, but at the very end, we mentioned that it may be a good idea to clean the tables to avoid the trash flying around... and perhaps even collect the empty plates and ask if the customer wants to order something else when a customer has obvious been finished for a long time and would like to consider desert. The young staffer smiled with a thank you and suddenly they began working and clearing tables. I wish they would have done that while we were still there. We also would have wanted to order more had we actually seen the staff attempt to return to our area. Hmmm. The hamburgers and outside seating though, were really good. Weâll go back if we see the ratings of the restuarant improve on this site. If not, we wonât.
