Outback Steakhouse

At the suggestion of several friends, we decided to go to Outback for a change of pace while out shopping this weekend. Well...I won't be taking dining suggestions from those friends again any time soon! First, the restaurant was very cold, like an icebox. I like the cold, but shivering while you are in a restaurant is a little excessive. Second, the service was extremely slow. It took 10 minutes just to get iced tea and the service went downhill from there. Third...we ordered our food to come out at the same time as our appetizer...which did not happen. We ordered after being seated for 18 minutes and our appetizer took another 20 minutes, then our salads another 10 minutes after that! The appetizer was very greasy and disgusting as it was not cooked properly... and the salad had way too much dressing. We literally could have added 2 more portions of lettuce. We won't be returning any time soon.

Against my better judgement I let myself be talked in to going back to this place with a large (6 people) group. They just can't seem to get it right. This was my 3rd experience like this. Too long to wait, too cramped once seated, too long for drinks, no refill service, way too long before entrees arrived at the table and 2 of 4 steaks overcooked. The waiter was overwhelmed the entire time and no manager came to the table until we asked to see one. I won't continue the rant but I won't be back there anytime soon either.

I cannot recall a worse dining experience due to bad service in the last 10 years. The food was adequate, not great. The teppan/chef show was below average. Our service was so bad. We waited too long for initial drink orders and even longer for them to be brought. We were the only table in the restaurant in a Saturday night. This should have been a clue. Our appetizers-sushi rolls- took a long time and arrived at the same time as our chef.As expected with teppan style restaurants we shared our table. "You have to move your chair" was how we were informed other diners joined out table. I'm sure there is a better way to ask for us to make room.We tipped our chef with cash and before he was done cleaning the table we were asked about to-go boxes. Our group asked for three boxes. All three were literally slid into my plate as I was eating a bit of steak. We still had 85% of our meal left when the bill was also dropped into the edge of my plate as I was eating. This was unacceptable to me.I will never return here.
