As budget conscious retirees we try to visit restaurants in our area which add a bit extra value for money for the large amount of grey haired population in this town.Hadn't visited this Spur for some 9 months and was a bit shocked to see my favorite burger had jumped by R25 in price.Sunday lunch saw the place about 50% full so we were surprised to wait about 15 mins for our food.Unfortunately my pattie was cold and had to be sent back for warming up but the food taste was up to Spurs standard when delivered.Why can't these restaurants put and little butter or spread on the 2nd half of the bun it arrives perched on top of the meal looking totally unappetizing.Pecan nut sundae was great up to usual standard for Spur desserts.Maybe a little outside the box thinking will see the lost turnover establishments are suffering due to budget constraints return.Dear KevinKraaibosch,Thank you for taking the time to review Timber Wolf Spur family restaurant. First time visit. Beautiful but such a pity they built it right on a main road so although thereâs a lovely outside veranda all the noisy and smelly traffic passes basically right next to you. Top floor would have been far better with views of the beautiful Outeniqua mountains. They have a lunch time menu and a âmonthly specials â and all meals on this menu is extremely well priced. My friend elected to have the steak with fries and creamy spinach which she declared to be delicious and only R65. I had the spinach canaloni off the lunch menu. Best I can say is very mediocre not much flavor price R95. Service was good.

Myself and all of my friends love going to Texas Grill. We recently went for the Eisbein special (They have undoubtedly the best specials in town, from food to drinks). The food was great, as always! Service can be a bit slow sometimes, but when a restaurant is as busy and popular as this one, it's understandable. I will definitely carry on being a regular!

We arrived to grab a quick dinner, not fancy but since spurs are known for their reliability and unpretentious atmosphere we thought it would be a good idea. While the food was adequate the service was abysmal. We had to call over our waiter to order drinks.... and then that order was incomplete. We ordered a calamari starter to share but the mains arrived without the starter....! Wait staff were friendly and they tried but training is seriously required here. After having been told about the quality of steak served at this restaurant, we decided to give it a try. Well we weren't disappointed. Both my wife and I were blown away with the quality and portions. We also had a very inciteful chat with the owner. Never tried the Grill, but was fairly impressed. Although parking looks like it can be occasionally challenging, the decor is striking and entirely in keeping with the diverse menu and friendly service. Great drinks selection too. Seriously good place for vegetarians, with the halloumi a true highlight and light, tasty salads. Steaks and burgers were expertly cooked, well seasoned and tightly presented.
