I got seated quickly and the waitress took my drink order. I waited 20 minutes for her to return to take the rest of my order. I saw her help other tables, but I could not seem to get her attention. I don't know if she was having a bad day or if something else was going on, but I took my leave... still thirsty and hungry.
6. Huntsman Pub and Grill
Best Steakhouse in town. We have traditional British fare, i.e, bangers and mash. Fish and chips, burgers and home made foods. Breakfast stop off to the low-veld.

Even though the shop is open to the front, it provides enough cosiness to relax and enjoy what is on offer. If you speak to the owner Lucky, he will arrange something especially for you, including preparing something gluten free.Lucky is there most of the time ensuring you are comfortable and for desert the cakes on display are a must have!

The Spur used to be the budget option with a wide variety to choose from. The variety keeps on shrinking and the price keeps on increasing. This specific Spur is no longer as busy as it used to be and we visited twice. First time, incompetent waiter with no clue of what is going on and the second time a waiter that remained focused and provided excellent service.On both instances however, the food was no longer Spur quality. Burger buns without butter at a restaurant stays a personal no-no. The Spur franchise has been increasing its prices to a level where it has become utterly absurd, and must surely offer the worst value for money of all restaurant groups in South Africa. We ordered a hamburger, calamari and prawn starter, and a half portion of chicken schnitzel. I must explain that the starter and schnitzel are priced at main course tariffs. The schnitzel was extremely small although it was tasty, the prawn and calamari starter was smaller than a normal starter, extremely small in fact, and did not taste very great. In both instances the plates were loaded with chips and oily and tasteless onion rings. So one basically pays main course prices for chips and onion rings. We have never experienced this type of absurd meals at the prices we had to pay and will never eat at Spur again. Great food and service. The one thing I didn't like was the stinkarse smoker sitting at the table next to me.Really, why do people need to inflict their demise on others. The restaurant will definitely benefit by having a non-smoking policy. Apart from that, I recommend this as an all-purpose venue for family, romance and business.

Staff friendly, owner very pleasant and attentive to his customers. Hake fish was delicious but the potato chips had no taste and were stodgy.The mashed potatoes on the other plate was lumpy. I should have had the buffet which seemed excellent and being enjoyed by many people
