Partner and I had 20oz rib eyes. Possibly the best steak I have ever had. Bare bones dated setting but who cares? This place is all about the meat. Friendly and efficient service. Great prices for the quality of the beef. I will return!

A handy place to eat if you're staying at the motel next door, and decent enough food. Bison burger was pretty good, but otherwise nothing special. Limited beer card, was hoping for more. Friendly service, and very accommodating if you're looking to grab food to take back to the hotel. A reasonable spot if you're looking for reliable eats on the road but nothing more than that.

Chicago Speakeasy has been serving the Des Moines area for over 30 years with succulent prime rib, hand cut steaks, seafood, pasta, chicken and ribs. With our famous salad bar, featuring over 40 homemade items, there is definitely something for everyone.O
Our family enjoys trying local restaurants whenever we are on vacation. Chicago Speakeasy definitely offers something different. I ordered the largest prime rib cut medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. My Wife even commented that she was impressed with the creamy horseradish being made onsite. Another great feature is the salad bar, which is even included with the kid's meals. In addition to tasty bread the meals also come with generous sides. The wine list is also great because they don't mark up the prices a crazy amount like most places. The ambiance is cozy since the dining rooms are broken up into smaller areas. Everyone working here is friendly and it seems like the kind of restaurant with longtime employees. Give it a try.

We enjoyed the polenta fries, followed by the chicken wraps and my partner had a steak. Dinner arrived quickly, everything was really good and the drinks were great. Everytime I visit I am impressed with the quality of service we receive. Very professional, knowledgeable staff. My only complaint is that it's a little spendy so we save it for special occassions only.

A late 1920"s New York City steak house interior with signature leather booths, cherry wood furnishings, wooden floors, marble counter tops and high ceilings. 801 Chophouse offers only the very finest and freshest meats, seafood, and vegetables available.
Enjoyed dinner with family. Pleasant ambiance, strong pour with drinks, friendly & attentive service. Parked across street w metered parking lot. Reservations at 830 on weeknight. Apps included chargrilled oysters which were very good (considering we're used to eating them in new Orleans) and "down home" shrimp. Lobster corn chowder was delicious. NY strip and ribeye were cooked to medium rare as ordered however cajun spice on ribeye was not very prominent. I had seafood linguine which was loaded w lobster, shrimp and mussels. Pasta was cooked al dente. Sides included onion rings (yum), roasted mushrooms, and lobster mashed potatoes which all were excellent. Delicious fruit sorbet and caramel cheesecake rounded out a fantastic meal in DM. Will be back for another visit when we want a great steakhouse meal.

At Johnnyâs, our steaks take center stage and are complemented by a gourmet assortment of Italian cuisine and seafood, alongside an expertly curated wine list. Whether you choose our famous Steak DeBurgo or the classic Chanel No. 5, youâre sure to satisfy
This restaurant is in an off-beat location. If you're staying in a hotel near the airport, it's convenient but if you are local, it's not really by anyone or anything. So you typically are going because you specifically wanted to dine there. The steaks and other menu items are pretty good (I'd give them a solid B) but the service is hit or miss. Sometimes, they're great and other times, they clearly do not want to be there. It's a fine place to get a good meal if you are nearby. I would not make the drive just to eat there.Drew thank you for the review and feedback. I appreciate your comments and I have shared with management. We will definitely be addressing the service as we want you to always walk away feeling like you received great service. Thank you again and we hope to dine with you again soon.
