The city is the most populous in Southwest Iowa, and a principal city in the Omaha–Council Bluffs metropolitan area. It is located on the east bank of the Missouri River, across from Omaha, Nebraska. Council Bluffs was known, until at least 1853, as Kanesville. It was the historic starting point of the Mormon Trail. Had heard about this steak house in the downtown area of Omaha and thought we would give it a try and we were quite disappointed. My husband had chicken parm which was served on a hot plate covered with sauce. I mean covered, the sauce was running over the plate. Couldn't even see the chicken there was so much sauce. I had the spaghetti and meatballs and my advice is don't. Very bland and I didn't eat the meatballs as they were completely tasteless. The salad is also not anything special. Just a bowl of lettuce and croutons; no other vegetables like carrots or tomatoes...The two saving graces were the waitress was superb. Also they have great breadsticks.

Ole world steakhouse dining. Wines on their list are credible; with something for most pallets. The bone steaks prove portion for steak lovers; including the Tomahawks. I had the New York (bone-in) cut. The crab cake appetizer was good; but not Maryland Blue Crab good. Everything about my steak was excellent; color, temp (Med-rare) and a hint of season. So I got a welcome test of Nebraska beef. The side were broccoli and mushrooms. The broccoli was straight forward and went well with the theme presentation of the steak. If you have the mushroom I recommend you advise them not to teriyaki style. I found the sweet to have been a curveball in the dirt for this meal. Sautéed mushrooms in a more traditional style would have been a more flattering to the meal. I would have no reservation eating there again.

I had never heard of this place before, but had a great date here last night. The ambiance when you walk in was soft, elegant and romantic. Dim lighting and the smell of warm bread fresh from the oven was intoxicating. There was a built-in fireplace that stretched along the wall. It was a very romantic setting. I ordered the maple-glazed salmon, the creamed corn with bacon and the lobster mac n cheese. Fair warning: the portion sizes here are very generous. Thankfully I knew this ahead of time and didn’t each much on Sunday. But if you don’t get full, it’s your own fault. The salmon was cooked perfectly. The glaze was nice and light, not too sweet. The lobster mac was so good I could’ve licked the mini cast iron skillet it came in clean. Highly recommend. The creamed corn wasn’t overly creamy as the ones I had seen on TripAdvisor but it was still tasty. The bacon that was included in it was hard as a rock and I had to spit a chunk of it out bc it was inedible. But otherwise, our meal was delicious. For desert, we ordered the berries with creme anglaise, which was OK. Nothing special IMO.Overall, it was a nice meal. Our waitress was attentive and personable. The meal was good. And I enjoyed the atmosphere. Would I go back? Certainly. But that being said, Flatiron is still my favorite restaurant in Omaha, hands down. Thank you for your feed back and review. I am very sorry that you didn’t have an exceptional experience on your visit. I would like to talk to you about it more if you would like to. This review is a couple of weeks late, but nontheless glowing. We're on the road. We order steaks in two different places. They are delivered to us like a hockey puck, because "That's how the chef serves them" Damn. We arrive here. I'm a little skeptical, because it's a chain, we're New Yorkers, and ... well, we don't do chain restaurants, especially not steakhouses. I only wish we could remember our waitresses name. She was witty and promised that our steak would be served as ordered. And it damn sure was. Cooked to perfection; one rare, one medium rare. Beautifully seasoned, savory and delicious. Excellent baked potatoes. No nasty hard bits. Bravo, Bravo!! (And the long pour of wine is a nice touch). Great attentive staff and management. Really good food. Damn it, just good all round. Thank you.

We don't do steakhouses... quality is on almost on par with what we do at home... and of course the price is so out of proportion to quality. BUT spent the day driving so thought we would try the steakhouse at the casino, having had a decent experience previously.Sat at the bar where several staff came and went without acknowledging us.Finally a nice young man came and brought us a bottle of LaCrema Pinot Noir, our "go to red" for good flavor/pricing.We ordered, and again enjoyed the nice ambience of the place.I had the Prime Rib and my husband had veal milanese. A dish of sauteed mushrooms to begin. The mushrooms were ... well, mushrooms. Could have been out of can. Nothing to make them remarkable. But I guess mushrooms are mushrooms. Ours are better prepared at home with wine, pepper and garlic - butter!Wine glasses didn't get re-filled... fortunately we could reach our bottle. And once Jacob, our server arrived, we were well cared for...Pictures of meal attached. Quite appetizing presentation.Prime Rib: excellent, juicy, flavorful, abundantMilanese: tender, crunchy, flavorful. Both of us happy.Kudos to our server Jacob, who salvaged the service element of the evening. He assured the store of the extra star.

Been visiting Omaha for 30 years and always wanted to try Sullivans. Well this time we did it. Great location downtown off the Old Market. Did not have reservations but got seated immediately. The decor inside is exactly what I expected for a steakhouse. Please make note that the cost is very spending but worth it. The service was great. The drinks were wonderful. The BLT salad which is made tableside was fantastic. The steaks were cooked to Perfection and a wonderful taste. Then we decided to have dessert. We shared the bananas Foster's bread pudding which had a good taste to it but was very cold. Like it was still partially frozen. Other than the desert this would have been an excellent review.

The service was great at this Steakhouse. The food was quite expensive - over 40$ for a pork chop for example but it was very good. I liked the ambience and the view was beautiful. If not so expensive it would get a 5 rating.

We were in town and Spencer’s was recommended as the best steak house in Omaha , and it lived up to our expectations . Waitstaff were attentive and personable . Our only complaint was that by time of ordering , which was 7 ish , they were already out of prime rib and baked potatoes ( possibly more , but those were our disappoints ) . We “ settled “ on filet , with hash browns and mushroom medley and we would gladly “ settle “ again .

Dimly lit and darkly finished, it was the perfect setting for an indulgent dine, and the right choice for our anniversary dinner. The server was very knowledgeable, attentive and engaging. Some wine samplings helped us make a good selection, and we were off to the races. The Lobster Corn Chowder is not to be missed! Rich in body and flavor, chunks of lobster, thick in texture ... my wife wanted to take some to go until we realized they have a restaurant in our home town, too! She went with the Lobster Macaroni and Cheese as her meal and was not disappointed. The rich Mornay sauce was filling and sumptuous; the pasta was perfect. The server (and my wife) convinced me to try the off-menu Wagyu beef, the off-shore equivalent of Kobe beef, we were told. The steak was perfectly cooked and appropriately charred. I have no complaints about what I got but buyer beware! If you chose a heavily marbled product, go with a lean cut or you'll get a double-dose of marbling! It was tasty, and I enjoyed every bite, but the fat content made me nervous! We were too full for dessert. But the server celebrated our anniversary anyway, and the complementary Creme Brulee - also exquisitely prepared - was not wasted on either of us. Thank you! Will certainly go again but will need to wait another paycheck.
