I visited the Keg in Brandon and was disappointed with the food quality. My friend ordered a steak medium rare and it could definitely have benefited from another a couple of minutes on the grill. I ordered the halibut and it was overcooked. Very busy Saturday night, but the service was fantastic, our waiter was super helpful and friendly.

We had early dinner here on Saturday and loved the atmosphere. The staff were awesome and our meals were great!

A very pleasant receptionist/server led us to a cozy (as fairly small) and nicely furnished seating area then presented us with their menu. The décor was eye-pleasing, well-lit, and each table had a vase of artificial flowers of varied types and colours). There was even a small section with sports memorabilia on the walls. As it was lunch-time, we opted for one of their burgers (the lunch special for that day was their largest burger, "The Bull", which was a bit too much of a meal for our appetites). We perused the menu (I don't recall any pictures) which listed their offerings -- appetizers, lunches, suppers, and desserts. We were tempted to order one of their many appetizers but thought them to be just a wee bit "pricey". This is a licensed restaurant but as we had much to do on this visit to Brandon, we passed on this option (typical costly drinks offered). Much of the menu featured beef products derived from local sources and they also proudly state that all their meals are home-made! Definitely two strong positives -- good for them!! There is a good variety of burger sizes available at reasonable prices as it seems that burgers appear to be their mainstay at lunch. Once you choose the size, you can opt for various toppings to enhance and personalize your choice. There is a message on the front of the menu that states, "We don't serve fast food. We serve good food".And that they definitely do! During the wait to have your meal freshly prepared, should you desire reading material, they have a rack with magazines, newspapers, and the like. We ordered coffee and were very pleased with the robust flavour and that it was "bottomless". A pitcher of ice-water and glasses was brought to our table as well. It was a good omen that the silverware was of a good quality -- definitely not flimsy or cheap. As it turned out, the delay was not all that long (we were among the first arrivals) and was a small sacrifice to make for what we were presented with! Our burgers arrived nicely presented -- open-faced so you could add the extra toppings placed on the plate. The thick patty was SUPERBLY done -- perfectly prepared so that it was perfectly cooked and still retained the desired juiciness. The bun had been lightly toasted but was still soft and tender. We asked for gravy on the side. It was quite tasty and great for dipping the generous portion of unsalted French fries. The fries were terrific -- just the right crispiness on the outside, tender on the inside, and were hot as they had just come out of the fryer! My only negative is that I ordered caramelized onions for my burger but even though they were still "flexible", they were cut way too thin and as such became quite stringy and difficult to chew. The meal was far too filing to even contemplate ordering one of their tempting desserts. The total cost, excluding tip, was a bit over $32.00 for the both of us, which included a discount for Seniors. Money well spent!! However, if you plan on having supper there, be prepared for considerably higher prices but they do allow you to combine dishes (eg. create your own "surf and turf").Despite being a bit out of the way from downtown, the restaurant was filling up nicely so its reputation for great food makes the trip will worth the time taken to get there. . Well done, everyone!!! We had a filling, thoroughly enjoyable meal and dining experience. See you soon! I cannot wait to try your hot roast beef!!

Just flew in from Vancouver & landed in Brandon around 2 pm. We were looking for a quick bite. Driving on 18th we just randomly stopped at the Applebee's on 18th. It was packed at this time of day! But I realize why. The service was excellent, The food was amazing & our "special" margaritas were the best I have ever had. (I have to confess...I have had many margaritas in my past) Our waitress who was a lovely young lady with blondish hair, that I neglected to get her name, was just amazing. She seated us, then waited on us & also created the amazing margaritas. She was just wonderful! We shared the appetizer plate which was plenty for two. It was absolutely perfect.
