Atlanta has been dubbed everything from the "capital of the new South" and "the next international city" to "the best place to do business." It's also a great place to visit. Fueled by the prosperity of local mega companies like Coca Cola and Holiday Inn, the prestige of hosting the 1996 Summer Olympic Games and the energy of young upwardly mobile types who have migrated to the city in droves - Atlanta is on fire. And this time it's a good thing. From world-class restaurants and a myriad of cultural attractions to a hip nightlife and sporting events galore, the city is cosmopolitan in every sense of the word. But Atlanta has also managed to maintain its historic character. Stop by the Atlanta History Center or visit the Martin Luther King Jr. Historical Site, a moving tribute to an American icon. Browse through the former home of famous author Margaret Mitchell or pop into the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum for details on the life and times of the former president and his family. Whether you choose modern urban endeavors or old southern pleasures, Atlanta will not disappoint.

Got a recommendation from an Uber driver for this place while my wife and I were deciding between Del Friscoâs and The Palm. We went with his suggestion and have to say this was one of the best meals I ever had. We took cues from the waiter on the grilled oysters and were blown away. Both had bone in filets that were cooked to perfection, and complimented it with the lobster Mac nâ cheese. I have eaten at steakhouses from NY to Seattle and this one is in my top five. Top dollar for sure, but worth the money for what we were served. Definitely doing this one again.

When you talk about great steak houses in Atlanta, McKendrick's does not come to mind immediately. However, it should be ranked among the top restaurants in the City. Recently had lunch with colleagues there and the service, as always, was impeccable. They consistently perform above the standard in my opinion. Lovely ambiance inside but it is noisy when the dining room is full. Started with a salad "wedge" with bacon, cherry tomatoes and a little extra bleu cheese on top. Lovely starter. Then I had the chopped sirloin steak and it was above average but not exceptional. Carmelized onions on top added some flavor but the meat was pretty bland. The side of sauteed garlic spinach was outstanding. MY colleagues had a tuna sandwich (daily special) with fries the portion was enormous. My other partner had salad topped with grilled salmon. Both dishes looked terrific and, even though I have been trying to stay away from carbohydrates, I did have to have a piece of the hot, fresh bread with butter. Old school but delicious. Overall an above average meal with excellent service. Our waiter was a pro and remained very attentive refilling water glasses, bringing more bread, etc. This place is a bit hard to find and you cannot see it from the main road. However, it is a good place for lunch or dinner.

Really wonderful experience. We felt like we were treated like royalty. Bob, the host with the most, was so warm and welcoming. Our servers, Drew and Laura, were wonderful as well. The restaurant is a throwback to the 1930s (or so we were toldâwe wouldnât know since we only go as far back as the 90s). The cocktails were fun, but the wine selection was impeccable too. We really loved the Yves Culleton Syrah ($16).We skipped salads and went with 2 hors dâoeuvres: Jumbo Lump Crab Mayonnaise ($14.95) and Broiled Humboldt Fog ($15.95). The crab was amazing. It came with saltine crackers to put the crab on. Would 100% get again. The Humboldt Fog was just bread sitting in goat cheese and red sauce. There was really nothing special about it, and we wouldnât get it again. For our entrees, we got the Filet Madame ($54.95) and Côte de Boeuf ($78.95). Both were fantastic. We got the Sauce Diane ($4.95) and Béarnaise ($4.95), and between the two, the Béarnaise was definitely our favorite. We were a little turned off that they charged for the sauce. As for sides, they ran out of the Pommes Dauphinoise, so Drew suggested the Pommes Aligot (not on the menu, probably $12.95). It was too much cheese, and we wouldnât get it again. The Roasted Mushrooms in Wine ($13.95) were fantastic though. We have leftovers of both the entrees and sides! We ordered the 12 Layer Chocolate Cake for dessert ($12.95 I think), but after some time, Drew came out to tell us that they had run out, so they brought out THREE other desserts instead at no charge!! The Crème Caramel was my favorite. We didnât like the lemon flavor on the Baked Alaska, but the presentation with the flaming alcohol was very cool. The chocolate sorbet was good.Very expensive, but it was a fun experience and if we ever get the chance to go again, we would!

Located in downtown Atlanta about 1.5 blocks from the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, this is an excellent restaurant for steaks and seafood. We tried the broiled seafood platter - fresh catch (it was salmon the night we went), lobster tail, jumbo shrimps, and scallops (or you can do double shrimp!). Very tasty and delicious! An excellent venue for business meetings and special occasions; extensive wine list.

I find it difficult to pick from what I feel are the top 4 steakhouses in Atlanta. Competition is fierce and theyâre all great. Just went back to Kevin Rathbunâs Steak. Pricey but well worth the money. If youâve never had Spinalis (rib eye cap), and youâre a steak lover, itâs the best you can get. Heavily marbled and flavorful. The ambience is great and they have a great bar. Canât go wrong here. Reserve well in advance!

Fogo de Chão is a leading Brazilian steakhouse, or churrascaria, which has specialized in fire-roasting high-quality meats since 1979 utilizing the centuries-old Southern Brazilian cooking technique of churrasco. Fogo offers guests a wide variety of simpl
Perfectly grilled succulent shrimp! You taste the flavor just smelling the food, even before itâs presented. Salad Buffett was above standard, great variety. The star of this show however, was the meat! All of the meat. Cooked medium and beautifully seasoned. Lamb ,perfect color and flavor. Service was fantastic. Worth 20% tip at least. Price a little more than two other popular places but food and service was a grade and a half above.

This one was ok. Been to similar restaurants I thought were better. Sides not too appealing to look at or eat. If you ask for well done it comes out very burnt. Service was good. Full bar. Many choices. Nice salad bar.

Youâll know youâre in for a capital dining experience the moment you take in the breathtaking Atlanta skyline from your table. Your penthouse view will look even better after savoring a dry aged steak with a wine selection from an award-winning list. Even
Business dinner so limited choices but all fairly good and huge portions. The standouts were the steamed seafood app and the chocolate flourless cake. Both were heavenly. Also the calamari was delicious. On the just meh list were sadly the lamb chops (which were recommended to me over the filet when I told the waiter I was having a hard time deciding), lobster bisque and Caesar (both way under seasoned), sea bass (overcooked). All sides were good not great. Service was top notch. Thoroughly impressed.

Excellent food, atmosphere and service. The crab and avocado salad was delicious; it came with jumbo lump crab meat in huge chunks - a rare find in most restaurants. The filet mignon was tender, cooked to perfection, and had great flavor. The sides were generously portioned and tasty - especially the asparagus and the truffled mashed potato. The stuffed trout was also excellently prepared and tasty. The wait staff were very pleasant, friendly and attentive. The chef went out of his way to accommodate my daughter's severe food allergies, including making a special baked potato without the egg wash that all of the other potatoes had already been prepped with; he did so in time for her entree. It is rather pricey, but we thought well worth the treat. We would highly recommend and would definitely go back if in the area.

What began in Chicago in 1978 is now one of the most award-winning steakhouses around. For over 30 years, Morton's The Steakhouse has been on a mission to provide "The Best Steak⦠Anywhere." Focusing on quality, consistency and genuine hospitality, Morton
Lousy food and service. I understand it was busy but it took 2 hours to get our dinner. When we got it it was over done - that said the bill was $107 - this is totally unacceptable for Mortons. Someone needs to look at this restaurant and fix the problems.
