Typical Tuscan Cuisine - Certified Chianina Meat Grilled Meat on Wood Brace - Pizza Wood Bakery - Paninoteca Bar (Panini filled with local products at this time) National and International Liquors - pastries, breads and pasta are home made.
Me and my friend were returning from a weekend at the Terme and it was 5pm, all restaurants along the road were closed. Well we stumbled in this trattoria and found friendly owners and staff that allowed us a proper meal despite the odd hour. I had a Chianina steak which was delicious and very reasonably priced. If you're in the area to visit the Outlet or whether you are passing by as we were, stop by and sit down for a hearty meal and some friendly chatter.

Cooking meat of the best national flocks. Visit us and enjoy succulent Chianina beef burgers, rich grilled, Fiorentina steak, and other many delights of Tuscany cusine. For Pizza lovers do not miss our Special Pizzas with buckwheat flour and wheat flour.
Is it the best in terms of quality in the area, probably not. However it is still excellent, the Pizzas are superb, on another night I had lamb chops which were superb. A word of warning the cheese starter is enough for 4 people! It was excellent but for 1 person too much. The staff are very efficient and friendly, and it offers a nice mix of food for all. Prices are good as well.

The restaurant was recommended by our Italian friend and didn't disappoint. The burgers were wonderful, it was obvious the quality of meat was exceptional. We had the bacon and cheese, mine was well done as requested and my wife's perfectly medium. Good choice of wines and excellent service. We even got to meet some of the beautiful cows on the way out. Desserts were good too.

The Osteria ACQUACHETA, open for over 25 years, has retained the characteristics of the old Tuscan taverns. The kitchen, sharing tables, one glass for water and wine, and not least an authentic welcome and true, typically Tuscan, make it a local flavor ..
After all the hype about the "FLORENTINE STEAK" and even Rick Steves recommendation of this restaurant our table including the couple we shared the table with thought the steak was tough. This restaurant is more about show than giving the customer what they want. First of all there are only 2 seatings. You wait outside with the crowd of hungry people until they open the doors and funnel you in and you are given a menu, etc. Nothing different than any other restaurant. If you want the steak they come to your table with a slab of beef, the owner scribbles on the weight and price of your meat on your placemat, then scurries off to cook it. Remember...you cannot choose how you want it done and it pretty much comes out rare. Not that I minded it and we both ate the steak, but we can cook a better steak at home. The meat was tough and rare. For the money....I recommend going to another restaurant to eat this steak, or eating something other than the steak. But know you wont because while in Italy your mind will tell you you that you have to do the Florentine steak dinner, but I suggest you go somewhere else.

Reservation is highly recommended especially for the terrace in summertime and in general for christmas markets
We have dined here on several occasions over the past few years and really enjoyed the food and so as this was our friends first visit to Montepulciano we took them here for lunch.First off a minor hiccup. The terrace was full so we asked whether we could have a drink inside and then move to a table on the terrace. Answer - No. I could understand not moving tables if you had food or even trying to move tables when you are already out on the terrace as I could see some people trying to get closer to the wall with the great views, but not move drinks! Very inflexible and not very helpful. We reserved a table on the terrace and adjourned to a bar almost next door which had seating out in the Piazza for a drink.Once back in the restaurant we enjoyed another good meal. For starters we shared a couple of plates of proscuitto with pecorino cheese (EUR 9-50 per plate) and for mains, three of us had the Tagliata and one the Rabbit Etruscan style with sides of spinach, roast potatoes and a mixed salad. Each of the mains were EUR 15-00 each the sides between EUR 4-50 and EUR 5-00. All of the food was very good.Extensive wine menu and service, once we sat down, was friendly and efficient.I would have rated this restaurant higher if they had not been so inflexible.
