Things to do in Yecla

A lovely evening with friends, 12 glasses of wine, 3 beers, tapas for 5 people all for 36 euros. Nice atmosphere, football on to, great valueThank you very much
Even though the establishment is aimed at take aways, there are plenty of tables to eat there as well. The place is fresh and clean, the service is good and the food is excellent. You definitely get value for money as the prices are very good without limiting the quality or variety of choice.

Gourmet restaurant Casa Boquera is located in a privileged place, a natural spot called Boquera del Carche, where among the vineyards you can enjoy typical dishes of the area and as well as elaborate dishes that you can taste by turning a lunch or dinner
My wife and I stayed at Casa Boquera, celebrating our wedding anniversary. We were very disappointed with the food provided during our stay. On a positive note, we loved the hotel, fabulous location and the rooms are really good. Very happy with the accommodation.Unfortunately most other things relating to food was awful. Generally the staff need serious training and they need to replace the Chef. Generally the staff were very pleasant but disorganised and confused. My wife has to have Gluten free food, getting straight answers from the staff was impossible. For lunch, first some confusion regarding the menu available. My wife had a Murciana Salad, made with tinned tomatoes and enough juice to float a boat. Followed by Tortilla, this was not a Tortilla it was a badly cooked omelette, disgusting. I had the Cesar Salad, a very average salad at best, no parmesan cheese. Then a hamburger, the burger was burnt and dry. It was served on it's own, on a small plate, no french fries no dressing, dry and boring. I will say the house wine was very good. Generally the service was erratic to non existent. We sat around the pool in the afternoon, if we wanted a drink we had to go and find a member of staff to serve us!Unfortunately the night gets worse. We booked a table for 20:00 Hrs. We went to the restaurant at exactly 20:00 Hrs, there was no one there, no chef's, no waiters, nothing. I had to go to reception to ask what was happening. At 20:12 Hrs we finally was seated and given the menu, we chose the "taster menu", at 60.00 euros a head, we were then told the menu we had been given was wrong and was given another menu, then we were told that one was wrong as well, we were assured the third menu was correct. We were really looking forward to this Gastronomic Experience by the Michelin Chef. We were both extremely disapointed. The chef may have "worked" in a Michelin restaurant but he certainly has never earned a Michelin star. The first nine courses were predominantly cold seafood from a tin or pickle jar, nicely presented but taste less and boring, course ten, red mullet, was not bad, then the baby goat arrived. It looked good, when I cut into it, it was raw, totally uncooked, I like meat pink but this was uncooked inside. This finished it for us, we sent the food back. As we were still hungry we were eventually given fried eggs and fried potatoes which was the best meal we had had all day. The one saving grace was the wine which was fabulous.I could write a full paragraph about breakfast, I had scrambled eggs, the worst scrambled eggs I have had anywhere in the world. They had obviously been cooked in a dirty pan, there was more black bits than egg it was absolutely disgusting. The hotel has phenomenal potential but the staff need training and the Chef needs to learn to cook! Unfortunately we will not be coming back unless we are assured things have improved.

It is one of the few places around with a nice lighting as that create an intimate atmosphere. Friendly staff and nice presentations but I have been twice. One 4 years ago and recently and the menu has not change at all.

I was taken here by a Spanish footwear manufacturer and had a thoroughly enjoyable Spanish lunch, albeit late afternoon! From the outside, you wonder what you're about to enter but never was the phrase 'never judge a book by its cover' so apt. Inside, the decor is authentic Spanish and the food/wine was exceptional.Well worth a visit.

Returned here with family and was pleased to find food and wine were still the best I have had in Spain. Owner speaks great English and is most welcoming. Will definitely be back next time I am in Spain.
