Xalapa (often spelled Jalapa, Spanish pronunciation: [xaˈlapa] ( listen); English: /həˈlɑːpə/; officially Xalapa-Enríquez [xaˈlapa enˈrikes]) is the capital city of the Mexican state of Veracruz and the name of the surrounding municipality. In the 2005 census the city reported a population of 387,879 and the municipality of which it serves as municipal seat reported a population of 413,136. The municipality has an area of 118.45 km². Xalapa lies near the geographic center of the state and is the second-largest city in the state after the city of Veracruz to the southeast.

If you visit the Parque Los Tecajetes, you might enjoy having lunch at the restaurant which is located in front of the "Teatro del Estado". The dishes are definitely for people who enjoy Spanish style cooking, with "jamon Serrano", fabada and other "embutidos".

Un buen lugar para comer en pésima ubicación, la plaza gourmet es pequeña y fea, por lo que mata la idea de visitar un lugar pegado aun mercado publico de verduras, buena atención y comida, pésima elección que lo abrieran en un espantoso lugar.

Este restaurante es de esos lugares que te dejan un buen sabor de boca, tanto por la atención como por la comida. Cuentan con servicio de valet Parking y hostess, lo que realmente facilita mucho tu llegada, el mesero realmente amable y cordial en su trato.Con mi Rib eye (qué pedà termino medio) llegaron también unos frijoles charros de un sabor bastante casero, la presentación de mi platillo dejaba un poco que desear y mi corte era más bien 3/4, su vino de la casa bastante ligero y de calidad aceptable.Cuentan con terraza, punto bastante importante si es que buscas áreas donde puedas fumar.Costo aproximado por persona: $400.00

We stayed nextdoor to this treasure. As you have probably gathered from the other reviews, this is not a traditional Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere and food are both sophisticated and affordable. We were skeptical of those who wrote regarding the quality of the meat - they were correct. We especially recommend the arrachera in any form - it is superb.We liked our lunch enough to return for dinner.

Pasábamos por la plaza city y decidimos comer en esta marisquera donde el ambiente y la atención destacan desde que entras en su interior , el servicio es bueno y los precios módicos, recomendable el ceviche de pescado con camarón que está muy bueno , asà como las enchiladas suizas fe Marlin y salsa de aguacate o las flautas de marlin también muy recomendables , todos los mariscos y tacos de mariscos muy frescos y sabrosos , el único pero que no les sirve el wifi y está en el segundo piso de la plaza hasta una esquina .

We have traveled to Europe and Africa planning our way with trip advisor reviews and have never been disappointed. Closer to home the reviews have been equally reliable, so we went to La Cava Catalana in Xalapa, Veracruz, with high expectations and were not at all disappointed. The atmosphere was pleasant, the service excellent, and the food was delicious. We opted for seafood, including mejillones (mussels) which were perfect, absolutely wonderful. We will gladly drive 90 minutes for such a treat, and plan to make the trip as often as possible. I agree with Manumanuti: It is our favorite restaurant in Xalapa.
