I have eaten at Xunta many times, both with family and alone. The food is always wonderful, authentic Spanish cuisine. (I say this having traveled extensively in Spain.)As a gluten-free âpescatarianâ I appreciate that there are many menu options. Unlike many restaurants which give lip service to gluten free offerings which donât hold up in reality- I can truly say that much of Xuntaâs menu is genuinely, and deliciously, gluten free, including the wonderful patatas bravas!A few details for folks who may want to try Xunta for the first time: The restaurant is BYOB like most Caldwell eateries (tip: the Foodtown two doors away has a decent selection of Spanish and Portuguese wine). It gets busy on weekends, so reservations are recommended. Like everywhere in Caldwell, parking can be a challenge, especially since the parking lot behind Xunta is mostly permit-required after 6 pm. But itâs well worth navigating these challenges- I highly recommend this restaurant!

Bandeja paisa - an orgy of pork and steak. The chicarron made my eyes roll back into my head. The shrimp was excellent. Beans and rice: excellent, but heck if a Colombian joint cant make good rice n' beans!Don't wait - go and enjoy! BYOB Prices are very reasonable.

Don Pepe II is a family-style restaurant that offers a range of food items and wines. Its appetizer menu includes calamares a la Madrilena, mariscos a la vinagreta, gambas al ajillo, almejas marinera, vieras Don Pepe, champinones a la Espanola and chorizo
Went to Don Pepeâs for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The portions were large and tasty. For appetizers we had the Garlic Shrimp and Fried Calamari which were more than enough for four diners. Entrees included Streak, Lobster and veal chops. All were very good. If going on a Saturday, you should make a reservation.

We had lunch in a beautiful dining room. My salad was huge and fresh. I ordered a steak ( sirloin) but my medium rare and their medium rare was not the same. I decided just to suck it up and eat it. However, quite a few bites in, the manager arrived with a filet cooked perfectly and he said: I want a happy customer. It was delicious. really really good. Actually it was far superior to the sirloin in many ways. I felt bad he did that but I felt oh so good that he did that !! ( I am sure you know what I mean). The other outstanding thing was the bread. Its my weakness and this one ranks right up there at the top of the list... Service was great. I would always go again.
