Nothing fancy, You order at the counter and they bring your food but Mary and her husband provide great customer service including useful tips on what to order to get a feel for Venezuelan food. Portions were huge and delicious. It was a pleasure for us! Thanks for your comments. We hope to see you soon on your next vacactions to Costa Rica.

Staff is super friendly and nice; food is homemade (yes, including the dough and filling!), empanadas are baked, not fried (love!), and they even make their own homemade "alfajores" with dulce de leche (yes, they make their own dough and filling). When I walked in I was so hungry, and I dont do dairy or gluten, but being in Costa Rica I thought I would be fine. And I was! The menu has a great selection of empanadas. By the name of the place and the way they make them I thought they would be truly argentine, but they werent. I was Okay with it though a bit disappointed. The fillings though creative and very close to home, fall a bit on the bland sideâthe need more seasoning. The place is tiny, just a narrow space to order to go and keep going. It would be great to add some tables to sit down and relax since it is located in a very busy avenue with no corners to unwind for a few minutes. Other than that, give it a try, perfect to grab something to go that is homemade and fresh!

Tapas bar and wines by the glass. Warm and contemporary atmosphere, free wifi, terrace: CLOSED FOR VACACATIONS, OPEN SETEMBER 10, 5PM THANKS A LOT !!
We quite literally walked into this restaurant thinking âdo we stay or leaveâ. Not convinced it was going to be good, boy were we wrong!! Miguel, greeted us right away, explaining the menu and specials, encouraged us to try different dishes, recommended wine and generally was just absolutely charming. The food was well seasoned, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented! What more could you ask for? We felt like we had definitely ended our trip to Costa Rica on a high note!!!

La teteraaaa ..... the place where gallo pinto ( rice and beans) is better and better every day. The combination of some beers the night before and a good breakfast the day after was nescesary. A night without food needs a breakfast of champions and la tetera offers big and deliciuos food and the best is that you can buy breakfast after 12 pm, other restaurants in town dos not offer this. The service, incredible, very kind people. I was there two days in a row and both times the service was very good. We also could interact with some pizotes near the restaurant which are always hungry, but dont feed them they become addictive to gallo pinto.Keep serving late breakfast for party people!!!!! Thank you :) La Tetera see u soon!

We are a restaurant passionate about wines and good food. Enjoy good music, food with Mediterranean influence and a great wine selection. Visit us in MULTIPLAZA ESCAZÃ and TERRAMALL.
After shopping yesterday at The Multiplaza,my husband and were really hungry.Wanted a nice sit down, not food court.Decided to try Tintos y Blancos again, and were very happy we did.I just had tapas, calamari and spicy potatoes. Both were good, not excellent. My husband ordered a seafood casserole, loaded with shrimp, mussels, clams and mushrooms,in a tomato based broth. It was so good.We had Chilean wine by the glass, very good prices on the wine.ALso like that they put a little card on the wine glass,so you can remember what it was when you go shopping for wine.(in my case that helps, everytime I order a different wine,I forget what it was when I go to the store to buy it)Service was o.k.,it was pretty busy last night. Will go back, and try some more tapas

I cannot remember having such a delightful evening in a very long time! Visiting the Escazu area of San Jose for the first time, and wanted to try something we couldn't get in the States. Trip Advisor rated this restaurant quite highly - especially for the price - and we decided to give it a try. It's a good thing we are tenacious, for we had trouble finding it in the dark (it's about 50 meters straight up the road from the sign PRIVE, on the next lefthand corner) but after we finally found it, it was worth every minute of searching! The service could not have been better. I believe our server Vincente may have also been the owner; he was charming and attentive to our every need. He spoke very little English (although his chef partner did) but they offer detailed menus written in English, and he was very helpful in selecting the best dishes for everyone. We shared smaller portions of a good variety of things - both appetizers and main courses - and even my nearly-impossible-to-please son, who is also a chef, was delighted with everything. It was a perfect evening to sit outside and look out over the city lights, with lovely music playing in the background. We seldom waited for more than a few minutes between plates, and yet we never felt rushed. The timing of everything was perfect for us. Our particular favorites were the fried calamari, the tortilla de patata, the shrimp in garlic, and the house-made green peppercorn sauce for the beef tenderloin medallions. We all enjoyed the evening immensely, from young adults to middle-age to elderly family members. I suspect this treasure will not stay hidden for long!
